I use 360 Wave Patcher v1.2.2 (usenet filename is 360.Waves.Patcher.v1.2.2)
Run it up, download the Wave 3 file and patch away. It's initially in French but there is an english option at the bottom should you not speak/read French.
One thing to note, is that this software is out of date and essentially picks every new game up as being Wave 4 (as it doesn't know about anything later than this). I've never had a problem patching anything back to wave 3 though so should be fine.
