colour spreading prob indicates id think a duff screen itself where its gone bad, you also get colour spreading ive noticed when someone tries to make u fix a screen that got damp on part of it or had some pressure applied to it at time.
if your refering to mainly backlight colour spreading effect, its just the quality normaly of the screen and its backlight applicaiton.. which u cant do nothing about and u dont notice it anyhow when using other than a black background.

Yeah this is it.. I use alot of hard black backgrounds (That's what she said) So the corners of my windows will streak white to the right really far. What I don't understand is the monitor is on a swivel..and if i just swivel it around to certain spots...the streak will go away, wondering if it's something more with a connection then the lights

no its not connection that is making it do that, its the quality of the screen , you can do a little test when u look at say a dell screen sit looking at the ctr of it, move up in your seat and down in your seat so like ur looking higher up and down on the screen then lower and up at teh screen.
you will see on the dell no change in image backlight feeding to your eyeballs. do it on a samsung or monitor with a backlight that is not as good as the dell and u will see contrast and colour change.
I dont mind my samsung like that as i tend to be one position fixed looking at it anway but if i had to glance across to someones samsung at an angle id not be able to see what i want with clarity at all..
If you look up at the screen from the bottom of it on samsung its dark, look down from top of screen its brighter

Ahhh I see. Yeah if I look at the screen from the sides it still has the uber tearing and bad angle lighting....sigh...wish i knew more about monitors before i bough this big ol thing. I love having a big monitor but don't think it will last long and didn't get the warranty.
