I have a backup og mgs2 sustance.
I have burned it on ridisk dvd-r 2x and 4x
The boot is ok. I can play with skateboarding minigame, see al the menu,option etc etc.
But When I select the tanker plant or other one, the radar type i see the move that the scenes or protagonists are bla bla bla and after that the BLACK!
the dvd not spinning and the laser doesnt read...what i have to do?!??!?!

You do have both disc's right? And play with the right disc in for the game you want to play?
Disc 1 is for the full game "sons of liberty" and disc 2 has the rest like the skateboarding, snake takes etc.

it's a friend backup.
it's ~2 gb!
i have the wrong disc?

pallebrun mentioned that the skateboarding is on the second disc which does not contain the actual game.
and you mentioned that you can play the skateboarding but not the game.
pretty obvious what's wrong with your game there. heh

Surry,i am sorry but in fact each Metal Gear since the psx one has his own hero. Main playable characters from MGS1, 2 and 3 are different and they are very important in the story line, even Raiden.
And when you play MSG3 you really understand plenty of things especially the fact each MGS game is important.
MGS is not only an action-espionage-tactical-sneaking game, it's a Great story.
Each minute gives a chance to change our life

yea, none of the mgs games is really standalone, not even mgs1 as there also is some stuff that is cleared up in mgs2, and some of mgs2 stuff is cleared up in mgs3 and mgs3's storyline can only be fully enjoyed and understood if you played the other 2.

I didnt say that what is explained in metal gear solid 2 isn't important and that you shouldnt play it. I'm just saying that Raiden looks gay, Solid Snake looks cool, and Big Boss looks and talks like Solid Snake so he's also cool.
The enemy special unit also isn't as cool as the ones in MGS1 and MGS3, they're far too normal.
As you probably noticed, that's subjective.
But... lot of people who enjoyed Metal Gear Solid 1 found Metal Gear Solid 2 to be a disappointment. That's a fact. And most of those people in turn found Metal Gear Solid 3 to be as good as Metal Gear Solid 1.
