Quote: | One of the oddest of all Disney live-action flops, this combo of SUPERMAN and tongue-in-cheek secret agent caper, which fails due to choppy exposition, bad sound and muddy photography, amongst other things (not the least of which is odd leading man Crawford). Also, this flick boasts one of the strongest love interests in kiddie film of the time, with Crawford successfully wooing the super-sexy Barbara Carrera in scenes way too steamy for kiddie matinees. The strong anti-Russian sentiment seems terribly out-of-place as well, even for the early 80s. Still, some neat spy-gadgets (rocket-powered ski lift, sports car-hovercraft and gypsy truck-jet car among them), as well as pleasing, even exotic foreign locales, make this a most watchable curiosity. |
Looooool!
