The Conditions
*The offer is only valid if you sign up a new Anarchy Online account between the 15th of December 2004 and 15th of January 2005. You can play free of charge until 1/1 2006. Should Funcom deem that a too high-increase in server load or other unforeseen events will lessen the experience for existing players the offer will be terminated at our discretion. The free version does not include access to any of the three expansion packs. Should you wish to upgrade to any of the expansion packs monthly subscription and client fees will be added.
seems like you won't have to pay jack shit, no hidden fees and so on.. gonna dl and try now.
EDIT: the download is approx 800mb, if you download the game from the site you get around 13kb/s, is you use bullcrap torrent you get 2kb/s. i guess you could say you CAN'T download the game and play for free. crap shit thingy

i played in the beta but back then my computer sucked and i couldnt handle the game.
also the server speed is crap because of the overload.

Prolly released this free till 1st of January 2006 because alot of thier players have gone to playing Ever Quest 2 or World of Warcraft.
But hey i'll give it a go!
