can anybody tell me where i can download the latest update from please? i dont want to risk connecting to live to do it and im pretty sure i will need the update for some of the newer games
If you need an update for one of the latest games (extremely doubtful, unless you''ve not updated in the last two years since the NXE came out) then the dashboard will be on the game DVD that requires it. Still, a direct link is always helpful;
It's the beta of the official dashboard coming up in November, when MS releases Kinect. Just because you don't have Kinect doesn't mean you won't get that dash
If you don't go online, it would be kind of fun to change up the dashboard even without Kinect.
edit: This kid is trying to sell the update! and he demonstrates the installation on a JTAG'ed 360! Then wonders why he can't connect online. Then brags about having Halo:Reach and goes to show his 'proof' but now his JTAG is all f'ed up & nothing works. LOL!
No, but once installed you CANNOT go back ... and that means if you encounter issues (this being a beta that's a strong likelihood) or if you're not banned; you're screwed. If you are banned, then all it really means is you'll be stuck until MS releases the official version. If you aren't banned, you can't go online until they release their official version - and even then you may still be fucked.
Seriously people; DON'T install beta dashboards that you aren't MS-authenticated for.
besides i see no major difference between this and my old one, yeah some minor visuals but this being a beta as of unfinished really loses it's purpose, except for kinect which i don't even plan on owning i really see no reason to update
The latest update (came out in March but is now known as 9199) removes the HDD crippling but, I'm sad to say, nothing removes the profile corruption. That's now permanent on the banned 360. As for uncorrupting them, I really don't know :\
