Gamersgate has it at 19.94 Euro for the standard edition and 24.95 Euro for the digital deluxe version with those bonuses sold separately for 9.99 euro should that be preferred instead.

YES!
Just hope Trine didn't fuck this up. I know they pulled the release because it didn't represent the quality it should, maybe it's fixed.
Edit: Wikipedia says Dreamcatcher, maybe Nordic gave it to them.
Oh well, I'll find out in half an hour.

Watched the video files, story might be interesting but the ending seems rather odd or incomplete.
Spoiler: |
Unless the video plays before the final level or some such it appears the game ends rather abruptly without the story being fully resolved other than this prophecy coming true and the demon now being freed but there's no resolution and it ends right there.
(It's somewhat difficult to describe properly.)
(Maybe they intended to continue the franchise from that point.)

JB, the Spellforce series were supposed to be continued by the Spellforce 3. The guys that created the series and made Spellforce 1 (plus expansions) and Spellforce 2 (plus Dragon Wars) were bought by EA. I doubt that the new developer knew what to do with the story.
So, no wonder that the ending might seem incomplete.

I've bought Spellforce 2 and Dragon Wars in the Gold Edition, as i have the Platinum Edition for Spellforce 1. And the franchise being over, not so sure. Nordic Games seems to be keen to use Arcania, Spellforce, Painkiller and The Guild.
They also seems keen on completing the new Dungeon Lords, that was started by Jowood before its collapse.
Nordic Games seems to continue the Jowood tradition in making updated bundles of their games: Spellforce was bundled in Spellforce Universe which was updated after the Dragon Wars release, Gothic was bundled in Gothic Universe, which was also updated with the Gothic 3 games. The Guild also got a bundle that was updated. So, we can only guess Nordic Games actual intentions.
From the press releases they do want to develop further those IP's. Time will tell...

Thanks for the extras, mate. The artbook is lovely. I wonder why they didn't made Spellforce into a full blown RPG. They have an incredible world out there and no one wants to use it properly. They've build a mythos in the RTS/RPG games, they could take a step further and make a proper RPG.
And, personally, I like a lot more the original Spellforce. It was Warlords Battlecry on steroids.
Funny part, i've seen some kids commenting about Spellforce: Faith in Destiny and comparing it with Warcraft3, but they've had no idea that the RTS/RPG hybrid genre was there before Warcraft3. Kinda of makes me look after my old Battlecry CD's.

Glad I was wrong, this is a really fun game.
Damn EA for buying Phenomic and making them create...what exactly? Have they made a game in the last 2 years?

Phenomic under EA management made the two failures called Battleforge and the browser based game Lords of Ultima (which is a complete shite)

A bit short (not finished yet, but I think I'm almost done), probably around 15 hours.
This has Trine written all over the loot system, you trip over powerful artifacts. Voice acting is probably the best in the series, dilaogues are a bit lenghty but ok.
Not too hard. Got squashed by a surprise zerg rush once, had to reload and micromanage better.
Three resources: Silver, Stone and Lenya, no change there.
RPG exploration is back, for the most part of the maps you need only your hero and friends.
Maps are huge, but few. Fewer even than Dragon Storm. There are some easy lever puzzles, and the Mosaic of Death.
No bugs, or I didn't encounter any. Ui is still a bit stretched in widescreen.
I'm right after the point of no return, level 29 ( you gain levels VERY quickly ).
All in all I'm having fun. Now it's time for a break, I've been playing this non stop since 6am
Still, I have positively NO IDEA how they managed to delay it by what, 2 years? They must have been working in 3DRealms time.
Oh, and EA management should go die in a fire for makling Phenomic do f2p browser games.

Bendi, it's Trine that had to finish it, after EA bought Phenomic. And you know that they have no clue about what they are doing...

That's why I'm always writing Trine this, Trine that. Still, it's not a bad game, but my opinion is biased by my love for Spellforce. After all, Spellforce 1 was THE game that made me buy a Radeon9700 ( or, well, a moddable 9500Pro ) and is THE best RPG/Strategy mix to date ( especially SF1, which could be completed solo/party only if you didn't start enemies spawn wells )

I just started the campaign and there seems to be something wrong with making save games. I keep getting an error when I try to Quick or normal save. Anyone else have this problem?

Head to nodvdnet and grab the crack. There was a Fairlight repack, but for some reason didn't go in all known places. The repack had the crack included(they've forgot to add it in the initial release).
Also make sure you have full admin rights and the UAC is turned off.

I grabbed the initial FLT release and the game worked like a charm.
Does it really end with a cliffhanger?

That's the finale, yes...
The game is short (4 campaign maps only). Voice-acting, plainly bad (at least in the english version). The updated graphics are nice, the sounds are decent, the music is great. Storyline is bare minimum, unfortunately. The dragon mount is a bit pointless. I've encountered only one annoying bug (a quest not appearing as solved in my journal, despite of getting the "completed" message), but otherwise the game is around 95% bug free. Which is amazing in our day and age, when every developer seems to treat the customer as a beta-tester.
Overall, it felt more as an DLC, rather than an expansion pack, but if this allows a decent Spellforce 3, i can swallow it (i do have all the previous Spellforce in their original bundle - Spellforce Universe).
20$ as a price tag it's a big no for now, but once it touches 10$ or lower, i'd say that they can get my money.

Voice acting bad? I'm just replaying SF2 and Dragon Storm, now that's BAD (and don't get me started on SF1). It's the best in the series. Maybe not great, but at least they show some emotion.

Faith in Destiny voice acting can barely be named acting, mate.
P.S.: about to replay Spellforce 1.

No, it's the first one that CAN be called acting, not just reading lines in a monotone voice

Some of the encounters in this game are flipping retarded. For example on the 2nd map in malangar greens, I've been tasked to search the south of the map for dwarven ruins to find a dwarven blacksmith to fix something. Well in searching the south I found a whole army of nameless, probably around 100 strong. I've been pulling small packs to kill them in groups of 5-10 but sometimes you pull 15-20 and they face rape you with a stacking fire debuff that burns through anyone getting focus fired by their mages. And I'm only on normal difficutly, WTF?

OK, what do I do on map 2 malangar greens? I finally killed all that whole army of nameless but there's no dwarf blacksmith anywhere to be found. I found what looks like an entrance to a dwarf location in the side of a mountain and there's a blue swirly circle outside the door but I can't use it or go inside. I've searched the entire map that I could reach and I can't find anything else to do.

*cough* You get to raise an army to do that *cough*
1.Rescue Io
2.Do her cemetary quest
3.Save the village
4.Rescue captives. You get to control a race of your choosing after that (skerg-pact, shaikan worker-shaikan, etc. )
5. Destroy big Nameless base. Important: only then will the dwarf talk to you.
6. Finish the map. I reccomend using your army to solve the Mosaic of Death first.

Whoa, what the hell? I did up to and including step 3, save the village. Then I went back to the elf base to talk to the engineer and he told me to go find a dwarf blacksmith to fix his junk. I never got any mission to rescue captives, where is that? I've discovered the whole map already.
