I don’t see the benefit to Codemaster or consumers for a yearly F1 game release. It works for Fifa and other team sport games because of the changes in teams/strips etc. From year to year will we really see big differences in the F1 roster and in the game itself?
Got to agree there.
I put exactly the same comment on the codie forums.
How on earth are they planning a yearly f1 game?
What can they improve on year on year other then the drivers moving to different teams.
I will 'NOT' be buying f1 2011, That's a promise.

As long as there are people to throw cash, why shouldn't they release?

Yeah i agree with that but, what is there to be made 'new' in the new game that is already not in the 2010 release?
And year after year?

The cars change slightly as well, but apart from that, not much changes.
I wont be grabbing that version either. It will be interesting to see how many patches are released for 2010. I say one patch that fixes some cosmetic issues.

Quote: | CEO Rod Cousens told MCV that F1 2011 will “definitely not be a few new tracks and a few new drivers”, adding that Codemasters is looking to extend the brand in the new year with a browser game and a game on all mainstream formats aimed at “very young kids”. |
So it will not be a few new tracks and a few new drivers for PC because there will be some DS and Wii version for the chrilden?

f1 2010 was a heap of rushed out budget style bullshit one of the worst f1 racing games ever released as far as im concerned...
EA will hopefully get the license again at some point.
f1 2010 was like a leaked beta build of f1 2011. i will hapilly pirate this game with a clear conscience

Agreed on everything; the 2010 version was overall quite a disappointment, many promises were made but none of them were kept, and very probably the 2011 version will be received quite bad from the PC community (in terms of sales). Judging from the feedbacks of people who bought the game on PC, they won't do the same mistake again..

Worst thing was the driving and that is really a big problem for a racing game I'd say
Even grid had better handling and it's using the same engine and was pretty arcadish

@rejer: They intentionally released an unfinished product in order to have "good innovative ideas" to implement to the inevitable sequel, this is a (not-so-much) masked milking procedure imo.
(One might actually say that all the sports games are doing it though, and it's rather true.)

Well, I've obviously missed that out. Shame, really. I guess they want to milk the cow even more while presenting with every new version small chunks of improvements and innovations.

8 gig patch?
I just hope it's better than the last one, I want improvements not fuckups.

Not having updated rosters has killed the greatest series of all time by licensewhores buying EA's over Geoff Crammond's...

We'll have more details after the first official Grand Prix, I wouldn't hold the breath though.
