I have been on and off the scene lately tnx to social personal life (hey I finally managed to get a girlfriend Very Happy )

So missing most of the threads and hearing conflicting opinions I was wondering of the following:

What is the best released release for the following games keeping in mind I prefer DVD over CD and I don't care if it uses a "loader" as long as the game works as the retail and you don't have to unplug stuff or anything (no mini-images etc)

- Beyond Divinity (I was thinking of the clone release combined with the noCD ?)

- Half Life 2

And then a practical example, as you know clones recently have been getting my attention, so I was wondering, is this the best release for Riddick :

The Chronicles of Riddick Escape From Butcher Bay Developers Cut (c) Vivendi Universal *BWClone CD1*

If I download that one (and the other cd's of course) and burn it as iso on DVD can I perfectly mount it and play and patch in the future or is the "cracked" release the way to go ?

As people sometimes say "can I use the crack on the clone" when a cracked release appears a while after a clone release, do those people state that just because they want to burn it "regular" on a cd/dvd (so not as iso form) or is there another reason ?

Thanks Smile If I think of other games I'd like the "best release out there" for I'll add them to the list Smile

EDIT: I noticed the "BWClone" the "BW" in front, what exactly does this mean ? I think it refers to some burning software, but does this matter for my "burn as iso on dvd and mount with daemon tools" plan ?

BWClone = Blindwrite clone. Clones were originally created with CloneCD, hence the title. You'll also see AlcoholClone releases, which are in Alcohol 120%'s MDF/MDS format.

I would get the collectors edition of HL2 so you can try out hl1 source, cs:source and hl2 deathmatch.

Many releases are marked clonecd when they are infact made with Alcohol 120% (.mds and .mdf). CloneCD is another app made by Elby software.

People who are talking about using a crack on the clone are like me for ex. I download the clone first and later when there's a cracked release or a crack only out I just replace the original exe's and protection files. Then I don't need the disc in drive/mounted. Loading and playing is often faster with a crack also.

you can try hldm with any hl2 pack. anfd i think that hl2 is a much better game than BD. BD isn't as good as the original whereas hl2 is so good although short.
