Being a multi platform, I seriously doubt that this will be a space combat simulator. Alas, it seems to be more arcade than simulator.

It looks not bad at all from concepts and the videos. Perhaps them being a small developer, they have not yet been tainted by the cash whoring known as console game development, so they make a port of the PC gameplay.
No joystick support, no way target hostile ships and no view controls... So far. It's still in alpha. They didn't have no option for a cockpit view and after some insisting from some gamers they implemented.
The atmosphere seems to be nice.
I've been playing the Demo for a bit now. It feels like Descent but I guess I was hoping for alot more. The controls are ok if very arcadish, which is fine if that's what you enjoy. The tunneling option is fairly novel but I think without some sort of extra stuff added to the world it's just going to be floating astroids with holes in them. It may just be because of the very early release but the entire thing just feels devoid of life or variety to me, and will wind up being a pure PVP game, which kind of confuses me how they're making that an MMO. The cockpit view is really a bit annoying, I guess they are going for gritty space vehicles because your windshield is fucking disgusting, kept making me want to clean my monitor or something.
When you're out in space, alot of the textures and lighting against objects reminds me alot of the look and feel of X3 without all of the coolness.
Because of how huge the 2 astroids are that I started near, when I did find them it felt like I was shooting at an ant while using a smaller ant, and when you do get close it just turns into a straffing war where you spin around each other. I saw that the options has an ability to disable engines and I was really hoping this was going to work similar to Freelancer where you disable the engines and can freefloat and spin yourself around to make yourself more manueverable and unpredictable in combat, however the way the movement in the game works is that as long as you hold down Forward you move forward, if you release, the ship comes to a steady stop; with that said, when you cut the power, the ship floats for a bit and stops, however it then seems to take a bit to restart it like i'm driving the Pigeot of spacecraft.
In conclusion, I have alot of hope for this game because you do not often see decent Space Games released and this one could possibly pull something out of its ass, but it's going to have to develop something more than 2Fort in space.
just tested the demo for few seconds (cause thats all i have for now:( (later will play more:)
it is looking good imo, i mean graphic is good(i like the lights on the meteorites and the shadows) and the idea looks fine, i guess i will have to play more
It requires XNA Redist, 3.1 specifically so 4.0 won't launch it as they're separate, in case you had that one installed already.
(Similar to .Net or VC++ revisions I'd guess.)
It's still in alpha status (Unsure how the demo works though.) so it's mostly a sandbox style test but with AI pilots and a number of locations like that space station thing and asteroid with various stuff in it.
I could be wrong though but it's some way still until it'll be ready as how the current version feels (There's a 3D like HUD now, wasn't in the previous version, we're seeing progress - that's sort of how it feels currently, AI is also being improved and some other smaller additions, haven't checked the changelogs so I am uncertain what's changed aside from what I notice while testing stuff.)

i see
well, i think there is potecial here and i like the craft features like the little iron arm to grab stuff probably and the digger and the lights on off.
we'll see if the final product meet the expectations.

Only now do I notice this...I apparently don't follow games that actively anymore. :/
But this looks very good and after watching a few trailers and gameplay videos,I'm hooked.
saw this on steam just now, so is this fully done and playable now? I remember not all too long ago I played a techdemo which was mostly just that a techdemo.
Figure there will be a scene release for this or is it online only ?
