got tired of the single player of nearly every game.
but, as for playing online you have to buy the game and as i didn't try a mp fps since quake3 and the original medal of honor (both were amazing, but none of them are actualy played nor run proper on modern riggs); so i need advice on a good fps, something that is woth buying...
Can you give a general idea of what genre you are looking? I mean, FPS is quite a broad topic, from crap like MW2 to hardcore simulation like ARMA to whole different thing like twitch-shooters (UT, TF2, etc).
Why doesn't anyone mention Enemy Territory anymore. Not reffering to QW. The Wolfenstein one. If you want an intense and fun class based FPS with iD feel and you don't mind the outdated graphics you can't go wrong with ET. I still play it from time to time.
Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead 2. Maybe even Battlefield Bad Company 2.
These are the best bets at the moment. MoH and CoD BO are not even worth of mentioning.
Well, if you like like hiding in cover, and every three minutes popping out to take a shot, then the modern warfare games will be epic for you.
Now that we have that out of the way, as a PC player, I won't even bother giving you any tips about cover shooter type games, so here are my personal favorites.
For modern setting, imho, nothing beats CSS. Not too slow, not too fast, not too campy, but the community is really elitist, but on the up side, all the kids are playing modern whorefare these days. The learning curve is pretty linear, depends on server, also many scrims going on, of all levels.
If you want twitch shooters, I say UT3 is where it's at, I play it every now and then, but the community is smallish, and really hardcore. If you haven't been a UT man up to this point, it will be a steep learning curve. Although, q3 was good at its time, UT1 was always miles better.
TF2 is also a twitch shooter, if you want it to be. It's the best class based shooter around. I like playing scout and spy. Scout play much like UT3 if you ask me (loads of movement, very precise shots, quick wit), spy plays like a demoralizing troll. I swear, I love getting people to quit with my spy. All in all, this game is the easiest to get in to, very easy in fact, and learning curve is dependent on the class you play. If you're not hardcore enough for UT3, but still want twitch, this is your best bet.
Co-op shooter: there'se no contest here, Left 4 Dead 2 beats everything. I don't even have to elaborate, it's so much random fun.
Also, yes, I have played all of these, I also own them, and would gladly play with any of you EU folk.
Not true. Here's the UT3 server list. Every evening there are people in the US playing UT3, not a lot though, but enough to play and enjoy the game. Greed/VCTF/WAR/DM all being played. UT3 is a good game, despite the derp UI.
i think i will wait for the Black Ops thingy and make a decision.

i didn't liked Battlefield at all. but i guess things changed since the first one to nowadays.
