I can't even remember him in BG 1, but yeah I killed him in BG 2 since his party members started to trash talk my party and I played a boneheaded warrior. Very Happy

I killed him the first time around I played BG2 in 2001, I had no idea who he was at the time.

Nope, loved Drizzt in the books and his cameos in the games (even as a secret character in BGDA) were great Very Happy

Don't worry Cheat, it's an easter egg cameo more than anything, nothing crucial to the game (in fact, some D&D fanatics were angered by the "pointless fan service" of bringing Drizzt do'Urden into the game)

AHHH. Now I know his full name. Why are you doing this to me? Sad

Razz Seriously tho, thank you for clearing that up. I was afraid he might be some important character, and that his death could be some major decision and or possible twist. Now I'm more at ease. Smile

How can you NOT know of Drizzt?? Shocked He and his lover, Catti-brie, are pretty much only superseded by ELMINSTER in terms of popularity and fame in the D&D/Forgotten Realms universe. This isn't a Baldur's Gate thing, mate, it's a Forgotten Realms STAPLE Very Happy But no, don't worry, it's not really a spoiler and it has nothing major to do with the plots of either game Smile

"Elminster this, Elminster that. Give *me* 2000 years and a pointy hat and I'll kick his arse!" Very Happy

Edit: That's one comment from Edwin, a NPC who can join your party in BG 1/2. I used his banter like "Again you disturb me." as ringtone many years ago. Laughing

Oh, I killed him alright. With good aligned avatar and party nonetheless. Bloody arrogant Drow would not join me on my quest when I asked him nicely, nether would he give me an award for helping him with those Gnolls, so I killed him and took his loot. I met him later in BG2, he was angry about the last time, but he was of some use in a quest, so he got to live there.

I let him live, then when I re-played the game I killed him, only have a vague understanding of who it is but he had nice equipment.
(And I don't think it turned to dust either, annoying Drow gear.)

(Also they worship some silly spider - http://cheezburger.com/4916664064 )

Cattie-Brie is dead though (Spellplague, never woke up from a trance), so is Wulfgar(probably a deer hump gone wrong), Bruenor(powerful old vampire) and Regis(helping Cattie-Brie). Heck, parts of the new continuity are set a hundred years in the future and everyone close to Drizzt died anyway. Now he's hanging around with that bald elf chick as far as I remember.

Isn't Elminster dead also? Living in the vody of his daughter, controlling it when he feels like it...yeah Cool Face .

I dont think i ever managed to kill him in BG1. I could have killed him in BG2, but i liked his help with vampires... plus you had so much great loot and gear in BG2 that i felt it a waste to kill the party.

I always put the fucker to death because the notion of a good Drow is an abomination. But that's the thing about the Forgotten Realms. Seems no manner how many times you put someone in the grave, they always manage to climb out again.

I even tried to use his appearance in BG2 via Shadowkeeper but he doesn't have all the necessary animations and it was a buggy experience.

That's one of the reasons I stopped reading the "new generation" -- same with Dragonlance, once the Age of Mortals/Fifth Age came around and it was all new characters... I just lost interest. I mean... ffs, Takhisis dead? Paladine "departs"? Pfft. Fuck that. Though I did like the Avatar Trilogy in FR, seeing Midnight become Mystra? Awesome.

killed him in bg1 not knowing who he is etc, just for the items, it was fun cuz he was kinda difficult but i`ve just surrounded him with summoned monsters and that was it.

his items were one of the best in game afair

also later i`ve read many books about drizzt history, anyway remembering how good items he dropped in bg1 ive tried to kill the the whole drizzt company in bg2 but afair later one there was some npc just appearing on the screen in your location and he took the drizzt items from you anyway
