Quote:

As any serious gamer will tell you, you don’t want jagged edges. In the world of 3D graphics, they can make a great game look bad, and detract from an otherwise stunning visual experience. And so we’re left to smooth things out as best as we can, thanks to a little something called anti-aliasing. But even then, things aren’t so simple. As graphic cards and games have evolved, so too have the ways we battle edges; there’s now FSAA, MSAA, CSAA, CFAA and more. Luckily, we’re here to demystify the jargon, and show you how each process works and which one you should use.

Wasn't it more like a Jagged Alliance rip-off? Or maybe it attempted to rip off both JA and Hired Guns.

Never played the original Hired Guns so I'm just comparing this to Jagged Alliance and it's sub-par. Sad

Yeah it was a rip-off of JA, but it stole the name from the squad-based sci-fi FPS/DungeonCrawler from the old days. Man, I couldn't tell you how many hours my flatmate and I pumped into Hired Guns in split-screen. Four player splitscreen, supported MULTIPLE mice Very Happy

In fact... I'm gonna find the AGA version and install it to WinUAE ^_^

That extra 2 fps from your upgrade must've been worth the money.

I always laugh at these people that say they're running 16x or 8xAA - unless you are using a 1995 CRT with a max resolution 800x600 - you won't notice a difference.

At 1680x1050, I had a hard time noticing any difference between 2x and 4x - unless I was looking at a power line or chain link fence.

Anything over 2x at modern resolutions (1680x1050 ish +) is simply overkill.

Article was a good read though! Very Happy

I consider myself a serious gamer who doesn't give a shit about AA. I find Morphological AA pretty funny it's like putting a Gaussian blur filter onto your rendered image.

Yeah I had that monitor. It's 1920x1200. Quick bugger as far as LCD's go, but still TN crapola.
