The logic of any system, becomes predictable with a direct proportionality of your understanding of that system.
Besides, how can you define when logic is not needed, even in the context of a joke logic is what drives the possibility of an abstract conceptualization that will serve the purpose of being selected by your conscious mind as funny or unfunny.

Of course your statement is true but there need not be a definition of when logic is irrelevant, it should be obvious that you don't need to scrutinize or try to rationalize a joke. Unless you're spock. |

The fact to be taken from here is that you spoiled the joke to yourself, that is the most fundamental truth to be found in this little argument.
