OK I cant hold the anger in any longer I just fukin hate games websites that use the god awful flash. They look nice but they are fukin useless most of the time.
Anyone ever looked at a scene release on here gone straight to the thread on the forums to look for screenies to see if it looks ok or just another w4nk rls.... only to then discover that behind the URL is a complete wank and utter useless flash site that insists that you do some sort of fukin puzzle in order to get to the screen shots.... what ever happened to the lovely easy to follow HTML pages that you could just click on a button for screenshots....
OK I know what yer thinking ... "cummon d00d give me some examples"... well ok you asked for it....
and thats only 2!! please add more at the risk of sending me insane... is it just me or do others sometimes struggle or cant be arsed to even attempt to play the fukin games or do a puzzle to navigate them!!
I don't hate them. Flash site that are well done are pretty cool. But sure some puzzles and gay navigation is crap. The Shrek2 main site is also broken.
flash is pretty cool when done well but if the website forces you to wait 20 seconds each time you go to another item in the menu it can get pretty annoying. especially while wanting to see screens and most of the times the screens are only 400x300. only the real gaming sites have those large screens (this doesn't apply to all developpersites or gamereviewsites)
i don't hate them but atleast make 2 websites then and people can choose between the flash website and the normal website.
i get tired with flash versions after seeing it more then 2 times or 30 seconds. After those 30 seconds i just want to go to see some screens
Flash websites offer alot more, if done correctly. I mean, for screens i cant recall where, but they had a good idea for screens. On flash site you would see a thumbnail, upon clicking it a medium sized picture opened as html in a new browser, and if you clicked that you would get a big picture.
That was very nice.
It really depends on the site, how easy it is to navigate and how the information is laid out, for example i dont want to hunt for buttons that do something that are disguised as planets or something.
Also what is annoying is the fact that there is a trend now to make each menu item loadable, instead of loading everything with the main site as one.
Yes i know the advantages of that apart from shorter initial loading time, but it breaks the atmosphere.
