Disney and TT Games have announced that a LEGO title based on Pirates of the Caribbean series will be released in May 2011 on (deep breath) PC, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP and DS.
It sounds like the title will follow the established LEGO game formula, loosely following the storylines of the original trilogy of films and the forthcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (also due out in May 2011, handily enough.)
According to the press release, there will be "more than 70" playable characters from the series and piratey environments to explore across "more than 20" levels.
"With so many wonderful characters, in such amazing environments, our teams are having great fun - and we're sure that players will, too," says Tom Stone, who may have a slight vested interest as he is Managing Director of TT Games Publishing.

Cool idea - But to be honest, i'm getting tired of the Lego games. They were fun at first, but now.. Eh, not so much. They just keep re-hashing shit from all the prior games but putting it in a different setting.

Yup Lego games aren't that bad, but as Mchart said, they would need a bit of innovation at least gameplay wise.

I would have preferred them to invest that money into the completion of Armada of the Damned instead. Obviously wasn't casual enough unlike this one.

hope its more fun than the potter one.. i just couldnt get into it.
the first star wars one definately was the best, man that was a great game. hope this ones as funny and as enjoyable to play as that was.
