I'm getting my daughter a WII tomorrow for her 6th birthday, I was looking at a refurbished one, a second remote, and a couple of games like wii resorts and one of the mario ones.
is there anything else I need to look for like a motion sensor for the remotes? do i have to buy remote chargers or can i just use batteries? can i play games on it with her but without having to do all the motion shit?

im new to consoles since nintendo64 so...
thanks
Some of the newer games require the newer motion sensing devices (I believe new controllers have it built in, whereas old controllers need the add-on).
I'd stick with real batteries also, 2 AAs will do it. Most games also need a nunchuck add-on, I believe even some Wii Sports Resort needs it for a few games...
Motion for games is per case. Some games require it, some don't, some games have both, some games have only one... it's all up to the game and how the devs designed it. ;p
I ended up getting the black wii, it comes with 1 remote + motion, wii sports and wii resorts (she loves the sword fighting). also picked up a purple nyko wand and super mario bros.
she deserves it, doing so well in school and all.
