Quote:
Filmmakers David Fincher (“Se7en”) and Tim Miller (“Deadpool”) have teamed up for the adult animated Netflix anthology series “Love, Death + Robots” with the first trailer for the series going online ahead of its March 15th global premiere.

From sentient dairy products, to werewolf soldiers, to robots gone wild, garbage monsters, cyborg bounty hunters, alien spiders and blood-thirsty demons from hell – all come together in eighteen NSFW animated short stories.

The shorts span numerous genres and a variety of animation formats from hand-drawn to photo-real CG and will deal with themes from racism to war, free will, sex and human nature. Each short runs from 5-15 minutes each and are created by different teams of filmmakers from around the world.

Feels like an experiment. Of course, sex and violence combined with sci fi and demons will cater to the average joe well.

This was pretty cool! I wish it was longer though, either longer episodes or more of them, as we've binged all of em in an evening..

There is something wrong with your "private sites" if the show is available on non-private torrent sites Laughing

The anthology is great, I loved it. So many fantastic ideas and the animation in some episodes is really jaw dropping. My one and only complaint is that I wish some of these (quite many, in fact) would be turned into full fledged series/movies. They're just so good that you'd want to see more.

They were available as separate episodes. I specifically meant the pack listed since I don't want to have 18 separate torrents. I've downloaded them, watched them and they were mostly hit and miss.

Watching it right now and some animations are just mindblowing. Aside from the Visual factor the short stories that re told are also really great and i wish there would be longer episodes of it but none the less its an amazing series and i hope there will be more seasons.

Totally wtf are some episodes like "When the Joghurt took over" or "Beyond the Aquila Rift"

IMHO that is quality content that i like from Netflix. Gives me definetly the Animatrix vibe but much better.

Back in 2008 Fincher and Miller were developing a CGI Heavy Metal film of 8-9 parts, each part directed by different directors, so it is assumed this was born out of that effort (they no longer have the rights to the Heavy Metal IP). https://www.ign.com/articles/2019/03/16/how-david-fincher-and-tim-millers-heavy-metal-reboot-became-netflixs-love-death-and-robots

I haven't watched this yet but I found this interesting: "Of those 18 episodes, 16 are adaptations of existing short stories, and two are original works."

Where were these stories published?

Watched Ep1. It was... okay. I expected more. 6/10. And Blur have made better CG before. (But I suppose it all comes down to budget and bigger runtime requires more budget so..)

edit: Well, Ep2 was pretty funny I have to say Very Happy 8/10

Ep3: Stunning! 9/10

Ep4: Ridiculous Laughing 7/10 With Miller/Blur helming, why am I not surprised 2 out of the 4 I have watched seem at least partially inspired by video games.

Ep5: Ah, boring and poor. 4/10. Well, so far I can't say I want any of them to be longer/a movie.

Seeing how most comments here are positive about the show and how much people recommended it to me, I'm guessing I should watch it when I can. I'm guessing not all episodes are out yet, right?

Ep6: Cute. 7/10

Ep7: So close to photorealistic VFX and yet so far away in the little, little, little, tiny details. Story was predictable and uninteresting. 6/10.

Ep8: I liked it but some parts were eh. 7.5/10

Ep9: Eh. 6/10

Ep10: Kill it with fucking fire. Those faces give me the creeps and that god awful skin rendering, did they forget to turn SSR on? Two times so far in this collection Blur attempted a photorealistic look and didn't deliver what I expected of them. Weird. 6.5/10

I'll probably finish this tomorrow.
