Although he does deserve some of the credit for bringing it out and taking all the heat the real hero is the source who actually leaked all this information. He would have to not only take real punishment for the 'crime' but also face his own conscience. Not to mention all the scorn the media must be heaping on him. I shudder to think what the self-righteous inmates and guards will do to him. His life is going to be hell for the foreseeable future.

He should have stayed on iceland. (he went there after the first heat)
Both Norway and Sweden would have given him to USA, but not Iceland.
Anyway, I think the supposedly crime he did in Sweden is bullshit. Does not look like the rape type at all.

I think with the amount of heat on Assange, he'll get something posthumous when he "disappears" and "is found with shark bites off the coast of a new continent"
Disclaimer: While I enjoy the transparency, I do believe some government situations should have a certain amount of opacity...Goddamn Terrorists..don't want them knowing my cables.

I think that we live in a world where hipocrecy has a great rol. just imagine what would be if everyone express what he or she actualy think of the other. it would be a permanent war situation.
not all should be revealed. that's why it's the policy there. i would have enjoyed much more if he leaked the amount of money some politicians, judges and private and public authorities get for doing or not doing something.
just my opinion.

Internal diplomatic documents that deal with how governments should approach other countries and relay information about ongoing negotiations I don't see the need for us to know about. There are reasons it's kept secret because most diplomatic alliances are so paper thin anyway. But honestly EVERYTHING that doesn't fall under that distinction, I'm glad they put out.

Salvador Allende. I do belive I wrote 'tried', but the coup failed. Later Pinochet made a succesful coup. CIA also used tons of resources trying to destabilize his regime.
