|
 |
lo lads.
I was wondering if it is easy to transfer iso backups on your PC to the xbox when your xbox is modded, and then play them on your xbox, not when they're stored on a dvd, but when you connect them with a cable... or something.
Thanks in advance. Lock or delete this thread if it was anything illegal or something, or if this is a stupid question (honestly, I tried googling!) but please note I am talking about iso backups, not warez games.

Yeah either extract the iso and just throw the folders over via ftp or use software such as craxtion to Transfer it over

Sweet. How long is the average ethernet cable? Are they expensive? Not really right?
Seems fantastic. I'm going to buy one.

Oh my Xbox will be right next to my PC room, so I can just connect em temporarely when I need it.
And do you think 8GB is is enough? How big are xbox games mostly?

Meh, I think I'll just stick to the standard 8 gig. The xbox I buy will have Project Gotham Racing 2 and Fable with it.
Also, is it possible to get an original, legal copy of a game, put it in your xbox and back it up on your hardrive?
Happen to have msn so I can ask stuff to you about this directly?

Craxtion will rip xiso images I believe, then you just transfer the ripped files to your Xbox HD.
Your 8GB HD will fill up very fast, as the partition you get to work with is only about 5GBs I believe, that's like 1 game, or 2 small ones.
If you have a physical mod chip, you won't need to worry about locking your harddrive I believe, but if you have a software mod, make sure you research enough to buy a HD that is lockable.
You can read about this "locking" nonsense at sites like xbox-scene.com and such.

Thanks a lot. I'm probably going to buy the alladin mod chip, so I'm okay.

also watch out your going to have to deal with new games that have auto dash update features so make sure to have the dash locked. Otherwise the game will update it and then you will have a non working mod chip that you will need to buy a external flasher to update which is a pain.

It's just too easy with Avalaunch and Qwix.
www.teamavalaunch.com (seems to be down now, but you can't get any files there anyway, as usual)

I don't think you have to worry about your dashboard updating psychoace if you have one of the newer bios's that looks for other dashboards to boot first. This is way EvolutionX dashboard changed the name of the file on the c: drive.
DVD2xbox is great for transferring game disks to hdd. HDDLoader can handle it as well, but I don't like how hddloader names the files.
I have a 250GB hdd in my box, and I'm constantly having to make room for new stuff. I use it for movies as well. XBMC rocks!

If you are connecting your Xbox directly to your computer then you will need a crossover cable. If you are connecting to a router, switch or a hub then you need and ethernet cable.
