I agree with the comments of the games that i played, Gothic 3, Mass effect and fallout 3.
I also played Oblivion but i found it a bit boring, so i disagree with that but many seem to like that game.
I like ign for the reviews, it's much better then Gamespot

One of the biggest flaws of many IGN reviews is that they disregard all other previous games in a genre, so originality most often does not enter into the question. It's like omgwtfbbq, this "new" FPS is totally awesome with gimmick-feature n.
Either just make up your own mind from trailers/screenshots/demo/info, check out gamerankings/metacritic, or do like Devi-Lee suggests (but regarding the latter, you will have apples vs. melons to pick from).

The authour just picked out the best games from the sales list obviously. The Witcher and Neverwinter nights 2 + addons should definatly be on the best list. NWN2 isn't as good as NWN but it's still a great game, especially Mask of the betrayer and storm of zehir addons. And what about Mass Effect which is a mixed action/rpg game.
