No fans of this kind of metal around here? Didn't saw any thread about it. Ok, let's start with something more known:
Blind Guardian:
Battlelore:
Summoning:
Avathar:
Druadan Forest:
Well, yeah, there's black metal too, because that really captures the dark fantasy world created by Tolkien. To tell you the truth I don't like other black metal bands except these two, at least not now, who knows about the future . Anyway, listen those, share more bands if you have (I know there are, but these are the ones that I listen to right now), hope there are more fans of these around here. Cheers.
Damn you ixigia, you couldn't be a Tolkien fan too. I guess we would get along just fine if we start drinking pints of mead while listening to this kind of music . Very nice songs. I think I listened to a song from Rivendell some time ago, but I'm not sure if it was that band or other. The other song is really great too.

Though I love Blind Guardian a lot, I must admit that Summoning is the best "Tolkien Metal" band, their songs are so dark and they capture Tolkien's world like no other band.

Does it have to necessarily be about Tolkien's works, btw? I tend to associate many Viking Metal tracks with Middle-Earth - of course for me it helps since I tend to concentrate much more on the soundscapes than actual lyrics, and viking metal tends to be suitably epic in that regard to fit Middle-Earth. You certainly wouldn't have a shortage of good music to listen to then; just start with Bathory and work your way from there.
Who's to say that couldn't be the Horn of Rohan when the riders assemble and prepare for war?
Well, that's what I was thinking when I made the thread, bands with Tolkien themed lyrics, inspired by Tolkien's work. Of course viking metal fits this too. Tolkien was inspired a lot by the scandinavian mithologies when he wrote all those things about Middle-earth. I know a lot of viking music/metal bands and songs, but as I said...
I know the last 3 from a deviantArt friend from Sweden. And these are just some songs that I remembered now. As I said this kind of muisc fits Tolkien's works too, but it's not quite what I meant with this thread.
The first song by Nazgul really deserves a dark themed video . It's not the kind of band I would listen to every day or so, but it's really nice.
bloodlover, dude, you decided to start posting too late , seems like I really posted that in the other thread. Anyway, now that you started posting, you can help me out here. Teach us master, teach us about Tolkien and this kind of music .
