In the era of Venetica, Death walks among the living as a flesh & blood being, carrying out the deeds of an ancient council known by a few as Corpus. Each generation of the Corpus is set with the task of selecting the next predecessor of the bringer of death. Unfortunately, the most recent council had unwittingly selected a crafty necromancer who is determined on bringing death and destruction to the world.
This conniving imposter has managed to transform into an undead fiend, which no mortal man can kill. This power-crazed necromancer is hell-bent on destroying the reinstated Death and the council of Corpus. Only one person stands in his way, Scarlett, the daughter of Death.

Kinda, German edition has been out for a while now and also had two patches (Second which was released recently as multi-5 language support and really improved the game engine but apparently it still has a few gameplay related bugs.) with a Italian version following last month (Alongside the 1.02 update.)
French version should be out early 2010 (February perhaps?) with a English version following after that, kinda similar to how Divinity 2 was handled. (Same publisher though if I'm not mistaken about this, different developer however.)
Don't know much about the general game though but there should be a lot of info by now, especially from the German and a bit from the Italian community.

Well, I was very pleasantly surprised playing this game.
What at first touch seems a somewhat simplistic action rpg has some real depth.
While the graphics are not state of the art, the voice acting second rate and combat simplistic; the amount of effort that has gone into the City of Venice is astonishing for a B title along with the concept of using the Twilight World as both a combat tool and a means of travel.
Moreover, once again Venetica shows us that graphics are not King but rather a pretender to the throne, always seeking to clamber into the King's place yet showing themselves up as a sad and greedy creature devoid of any true depth, a 'wow' factor for the under 15's perhaps.
Gameplay is and always will be King and Venectica occasionally reflects that.
I absolutely loved it back when it first came out, even though the PC version was pretty unoptimised and caused some performance issues once you hit Venice, the game itself was great fun and I binged on it for days until I finished it =)
Yes, actually. It's an action RPG that plays like the original Fable. If it wasn't for the fact that I only finished it a few months back when it came out, I'd probably play through again now. I REALLY did enjoy it.
