Tried grabbing a free Win 10 Pro license the last few days on a new laptop that only has Home license. I've done this numerous times before without any problems by installing win7 ultimate, activating with windows Loader then upgrading to 10. Usually followed by a fresh install.
I spent all day yesterday trying to work out why the upgrade tool wouldn't complete and today tried windows 8 and KMS with the same result. Some of the errors in my logs were product key failing to validate so I'm assuming Ms have fixed this little exploit
