well my xbox drive finally died tonight and and I guess its the right time to get a jtag. I'm not technically minded at all so getting a pre mod is my only option
any suggestions on good places to buy in the UK?
not looking to spend a fortune

Can get them from Here starting at £180 which is a reasonable price tbh.

£179 for a Xenon (oh that'll last a while....) with nothing but the base unit and cables? Ouch man, that's daylight robbery! No HDD? No controller?

check craigslist, local modding stores, ppl who advertise in warez forums. just be prepared to spend around 250-300 minimum for a quality job on a falcon/jasper. no use in getting a xenon or a shitty made jtag that breaks apart after a few months.

thanks grimmmy but sabin is right, GWD are robbers, used them before. Bear in mind I know little to nothing about 360's, i have always been a PC guy til recently. dunno th difference between xenon/jasper/falcon

xenons are the version sold at launch, responsible for the RROD debacle.
falcons came with the first 360 elites and then all other 360s after that. smaller nm chip, less wattage, less heat, overall more stable and less chance of a RROD
jaspers are the newest ones (except whatever is built into the 360 slim), even smaller nm chip and 99% RROD free

Have you had a look over on Xbox-Scene's trading section?
I've bought two Jasper jtag's from there without any issues.
One even shipped from Australia as the pound exchange rate against the Aussia Dollar was so good at the time (last June i think).
Definitely worth a look, even some of the US seller's may ship abroad.
