I was hoping if someone could recommend some RPG's which have a a good focus on story and a team dynamic is there as well. Like we can talk to party members and have relationships, do their personal quests etc etc. Mainly something with a focus on story and not combat.
Well I've played Kotor , Jade Empire , Mass Effect and Dragon Age: Origins. Oddly enough all of them are from Bioware.
I wouldn't say the Witcher is cenetered on combat. Aside from the damn swamp and end of the game the game is rather story-centered i would say. No party, but it has the best out of party NPC relations i've seen so far (You can even get drunk in a bar with them or throw a party at your old girlfriend's house). Try it, the game is really worth it.
Classics like Torment and Baldur's Gate Saga, obviously. Not much coming close to those, story and companion-wise. Fallout 1&2 too.
NWN2 ,esspecially Mask of The Betrayer expansion, and really good Mysteries of Westage. First NWN isn't really worth it story-wise (worst story Bioware ever made), but it pays off anyway, since there are gazzillions of great mods out there. Hordes of the Underdark (second expansion) was rather good too.
If You can stomach a unique Japanesse feel, try some jRPGs, they are always VERY story cenetered (usually there's nothing besides the story, actually). Final Fantasy games (6,7,8,9,10 are the ones i liked), Chrono Cross, Legend of the Dragoon, Suikoden 1&2, and probably many more. Those ones are from the time i've had my poor old PSX.
Biowares 'relationship/emotion' stuff started (proper) with the Baldurs Gate series (1 & 2), and since you haven't listed it as a game you've played I'd start there. You can get some mods that enhance the relationship elements and other aspects such as expanding the thieves guild of Baldurs Gate 2... I'm not sure what the deal with these mods is nowadays but it's worth checking out before you start as they add quite a bit.
Can't think of anything else off the top of my head. Although I'll second Deus Ex if you can 'get into it'. The characters come alive and the story is really arresting in a way I've never experienced in another FPS. (...or at least it was. I've not replayed it so I don't know how it holds up?)
wrpgs suck balls but from your post it doesn't sound like you'd enjoy jrpgs either, too bad!
JRPGs?
You're aware, of course, that every game can be parodied in this way?
FF7 was actually a pretty mature and deep game. There were some things like idiotic monsters and so on (which is quite usual for jRPGs), but the theme, story and characters were top notch. Not inferior to wRPGs, even the greatest ones, in any way, and way ahead of many of them. Most present ones, actually.

I played FF7 myself and no one should take my post too serious
But todays JRPGs are... well... not my thing you know
Emos are creeping me out

Not taking it too seriously either, hence the "" at the end of rirst sentence.
I get what You mean though, man . I lasted less then 4 hours on Last Remnant before uninstalling, and most of the trailers i see from recent jRPGs just... don't fit my taste exactly.
But the problem is that many of the older games listed here are so primitive that its hard to play them. I tried playing baldurs gate 1 and NVN 1 , the results weren't so pretty.
1 and 2 are still amazing.

Yeah, bloodlines was really cool. It's nothing like Bioware games though.
Still, if You haven't played it i would really advise to give it a try. It's certainly one of the most immersive games i've played. A bit heavy on themes sometimes though (including pornography, pedophilia and such), so it may not fit everyone's taste. But it IS one of the greatest, especially with bugs fleshed out with community patches. It's sad there are so few games like that.
Also, BG1 running on Shadows of Amn's version of Infinity Engine (with one of many mods allowing that), with a reasonable resolution, doesn't really look that ancient or bad, even nowadays. Sure, it won't shine with graphics, but it's kinda pretty, in its own way. There's certainly nothing primitive about it AND it's head and shoulders above almost everything else, when it comes to almost everything else BESIDES the graphics .
There's paedophilia in Bloodlines? That's news to me and I've played it to death countless times
Pff, guess you were busy staring at those boobies to listen to what the Voerman 'sisters' had to say during the end of their quest.
Meh, I'd hardly have called that paedophilia. Therese just made mention of her being daddy's little girl and how she liked it. Just a passing remark, if you ask me.
