Everyone seems to think it's a fake/viral campaign, because the developer is a complete unknown and because of the console tags (AO rated games never get released on consoles).

No idea, would be nice with a developer taking risks and trying more controversial subjects but we'll see if it's released, might not be the best use of the AO rating but I'm intrigued at least.

Yeah, could definitely be fake. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be a real game either, since the gameplay and graphics look rather simple and cheap to make.

Of course it is fake - a setup. Incidentally while the vid makes a big thing about the transportation of africans to the 'new world', for slavery the first 50 years of slavery to america, the slaves were celts; people gathered up in scotland and ireland following 'disturbances' (insurrection against the english occupation). This is where many of the west virginia 'hillbillies' originated.
Eventually the sources could no longer provide sufficient numbers for the now wealthy and influential plantation owners so a discussion ensued about where to get more slaves.
Many people favoured central europe because of their proximity, the fact that their feudal 'owners' the land holders of the day were often broke and happy to sell for a pittance (very much like the current sex trade).
The plantation owners rebuffed that suggestion on the grounds that the central european specimens were so poor. Their physical health wasn't up to it (generations of poor nutrition) and they were believed to have inferior cognitive abilities compared to africans who were believed to be healthier and require less supervision. So the more expensive alternative of sourcing from africa was chosen.
