Eleven years ago a horrific fire took Alice’s family from her and left her mind horrifically scarred. Afterwards she was confined to Rutledge Asylum, where she struggled to confront her demons by slipping further into her fantasy world of Wonderland. Now, after ten years, she has finally secured her release—yet she still bears the heavy psychological burden of that tragic event.
With her mind in tatters, she is unable to resolve the fear prompted by her strange memories, dreams, and visions. Perhaps she’ll do better in Wonderland. She always has. She travels there, seeking what the “real” world can’t provide: security, knowledge, and the truth about the past. But in her absence, Wonderland too has suffered. Something has gone horribly wrong, and now a great evil is descending upon what once was her beautiful refuge. Can Alice save Wonderland—and herself—from the madness that consumes them both?

cool i was just wishing this shit would come out last night. i just left and went to work to start the DL on this one. shame i won't get to play it until tomorrow night. how was the first game? it didn't seem like something that would interest me at the time so i didn't play it.
It's funny, when people are skeptical about a game and the reviewer gives it shitty characters everyone believes it. But when they eagerly await something and a reviewer gives it a shitty character it's all herp'n'derp.
I don't care about reviews. He asked for a review and he's got one that rates the game 50%.That's all.Shitty magazine gives shitty score for shitty/good game.Who cares. You'll test the game yourself.
OK, wow... I just played roughly 3 hours into the game and I just wanted to come on here and tell you this game is in NO way, a 5/10. I really don't understand how that kind of score could even be possible.
So far this game delivers the sort of twisted visuals I expect from McGee & company and certainly feels like an Alice game. The score has been surprisingly good, from the discordant string sections to the bombastic brass, and it's definitely indicative of the insanity going on in Alice's mind. The controls are spot on for me and to give you and idea it feels a little bit like a mix between the newer Zelda titles (in combat) and the original Alice (in platforming).
I could lament about repetitive gameplay or tired conventions or the like in the case of about 95% of games on the market. So I'm not sure why that would impact the score given by such a degree. If you understand what a platform action-adventure game is, there shouldn't be a whole lot of disappointment here.
I am going to have to chalk that review up to either a horrible port or a reviewer that never played the first Alice or doesn't understand its charm. Without the review in-hand, its hard to say... but I can and will say this...
If you were a fan of the original ALICE, you are going to love this.
*EDIT* I forgot to mention I am playing the 360 version.
