|
 |
Hi,
Has anyone here tried using 2 modded 360s to play co op games over an LAN? My friend and I have been playing a lot of split screen games recently and we were wondering if it would be worth it to pick up a second console and mod it for use over the LAN. Anyone tried it? What games have they successully gotten working?

most games use live for multiplayer, so you need to be online for that
check for games with 'system link' multiplayer
i haven't done it myself but i understand that can be played locally
also, just playing splitscreen on one console is good enough for most purposes

There are the games with co-op and system link ability. There are some more, but they dont have co-op for system link.

keep in mind there are some games that require you to sign into live to get access to the system link functionality.
can't remember which game it was where I ran into that because I probably deleted it shortly after finding it out but they exist.

You mean Red Dead Redemption? If you download the latest Title Update you got your System Link.

Wow, thanks for all the quick responses. I'll take a closer look @ the games with system link. I've been using the co optimus site for a while now to find good split screen co op games. I think if I can find 4 decent system link enabled games I might go for it. Red Dead Redemption is probably worth it already.

Add Crackdown 1, Halo Reach, Splinter Cell Conviction, Gears 2, Left 4 Dead and Borderlands to that list - these games have campaign co-op. RDR's System Link mode is just multiplayer stuff, so with just 2 players I can't imagine it being enjoyable for too long.

Me and my friend used to have fist fights near a mountain ledge, hehehe...
Also it never gets old battling the law, even with two people.
