TimeGate Studios announced release dates and loyalty rewards for Section 8: Prejudice, the year’s most robust $15 downloadable shooter. The game rolls out to Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft on April 20, 2011; comes to Windows PC via online distributors, including Steam and Games for Windows Marketplace, on May 4, 2011; and hits the PlayStation®Network in Summer 2011.

Section 8: Prejudice features:
• Mobilize by Drop Spawning from 15,000 feet, use Jet Packs to evade enemies, and ram opponents in Overdrive
• Campaign mode: 5-hour story-driven single-player campaign
• Conquest mode: Large-scale multiplayer for up 32 players
• Swarm mode: Four player co-op mode where shooter gameplay meets tower defense
• Offline bot support for all game modes
• Highly customizable weapon and equipment loadouts; deep level progression and unlockable content systems
• Dynamic Combat Missions: ensure no two multiplayer games ever play the same
• Dedicated Servers for all platforms, robust Stats Portal and Clan Management tools
• All of this for only $15 / 1200 Microsoft points – straight to your hard drive!

TimeGate also unveiled a loyalty rewards program for its dedicated Section 8 fans. TimeGate will unlock Section 8: Prejudice equipment upgrades for players of the original Section 8, based on the Level they attained as of April 20th, 2011. Anyone who played the original Section 8 will instantly unlock Aegis Armor and the Reactive Plating upgrade, while those who reached Level 25 will additionally unlock the Ablative Plating upgrade. The very dedicated players who attained Level 50 will also get the Explosives Amplifier upgrade. Provided players have not changed their Microsoft Gamertag or PlayStation®Network ID, the upgrades will be unlocked automatically.

“As the release of Prejudice quickly approaches, we’re really excited to unveil loyalty rewards for players of the original Section 8. We think the very attractive $15 price point of Prejudice will introduce the franchise to a ton of new fans,” said Adel Chaveleh, President and CEO of TimeGate Studios. “Xbox LIVE Arcade is the perfect platform on which to debut our large-scale launch. With a little extra time on the PC and PlayStation®Network launches, we will be able to ensure that gamers get the best possible experience and a solid launch on each and every platform.”

interesting. i did not mind the first one, only played the mp demo or whatever it was. got bad reception so, who knows. 15 bucks though... and for a prob 2.5 hr sp campaign. doesn't sound too shabby.

plus i liked the spawning, dropping from the sky aiming for enemies was pretty cool Razz

TotalBuscuit said it's really awesome and has a great value for that price so that means something. I already posted his video in the first game's thread. I actually liked the first game, though I didn't play it online, just singleplayer but I still liked it, it felt right, it was fun to play. From what I understand Prejudice is more of the same, but it's more polished, it has more content, stuff like that.

Why would you watch this when Total Biscuit made a preview explaing perfectly fine what's with the game already? There's really no point in that video.

Dedicated server details, might apply to the PC version as well.
(Though I guess the PC edition won't need these rental services for it.)

Would've bought it if they didn't insist on releasing the PC version weeks after console.

Oh well.

Why are people complaining about this game? It's getting really good reviews, it's a big game (MP wise) and oh... THE PRICE. If it was £30 I could understand, but c'mon guys it's a tenner. Aren't we always saying that piracy would reduce dramatically if the games were cheaper? This is a lot of game for a little price.

@Dezztroy - That's a ridiculous reason for not buying a game, imo.

I disagree. Why should he be happy that the game is getting released weeks prior to the platform of his choice? If you treat your customers badly, they'll just ignore you.

I just find it hard to believe that there is no valid reason for staggering release dates in such a way, and if you want the game you will buy it regardless if it's released on the same day as consoles or a month later. If somebody uses this as an excuse not to buy it, they couldn't have been that bothered about the game anyway. *Shrugs* whatever though, just my humble opinion.

Most XBLA/PC titles that first appear on XBLA, it's because MS has paid for a windows of exclusivity in return of advertising the game.

Examples:
Super Meat Boy
Hydrophobia
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
...

I don't know if this is the case for this game as well, but we are talking for less than a month delay.. if I was interested in the game, I could live with that.

TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."

I really enjoyed the multiplayer of Section 8 and this brings it up a level. I got it on the 360 and loved it, for £10 you really can't complain, well worth grabbing!

First one had a mini-campaign of sorts, perhaps this one is a bit more fleshed out, we'll see.
(Getting late here so I can't check on it until tomorrow.)
