So.... I have a nvidia 8800GTS512 and it is @ max factory speeds ( frequencies) not overclocked. The problem is that it doesnt regulate itself, for example when idling, it should auto lower its speed. Is there an app that lowers automatically these frequencies(core,memory...)?

p.s motherboard not the best - asus p5n-e sli

How are you monitoring it?
What's the GPU load on idle?
