Dead Meets Lead is every bit and piece of what a challenging zombie-slaying action game should be. Enter the role of the 18th century commander who’s on a mission to obliterate evil, by fighting your way through the island of El Mirando. A mystic plague has consumed the inhabitants of this island and you’ll have to liberate their souls by sword, and travel deep into the island to find and stop the dark minds behind the cursed disease. You’ll have to act, think and move fast if you want to survive the horrors of these wicked parts of the world. And do not hope for any rescue or help, it’s all up to you and you alone!

Good hunting!
Key features

* Seven deadly weapons (three melee and four ranged), including weapons such as the Mace, Blaster and Hand-cannon.
* The rage system; the more you kill the more furious the captain gets, and there’s not much that can stop the captain when he gets angry!
* Sixteen challenging maps with terrain ranging from sandy beaches, to swamps and villages, and in-land mountain ranges.
* Easy to learn – hard to master gameplay, there’s always something more to learn in DML. Some of the achievements and difficulty levels seems impossible at first, but with the right tactics there’s hardly anything the captain can’t do.
* Ten different types of enemies (including three bosses); from the common zombie and their infected cattle to the more mystic beings dwelling in the shadows on the island!
* 40+ achievements to complete.
* Custom made in-game soundtrack with five enthralling tunes.

The team behind upcoming zombie slaughter game Dead Meets Lead today released a free-to-play, single level version of the game called The Challenge. Simultaneously, the release date for the full game is officially set to be May 3, 2011.

The Challenge is a specially designed single level version of Dead Meets Lead. As the name might imply, it is constructed to be truly difficult to complete. For those who do complete it awaits the reward of getting their name inscribed into the official Hall of Fame on the Dead Meets Lead website.

The map starts with The Captain finding himself in a small glade in the depths of the swamplands. He senses that something is wrong with the place, but before realizing what is about to happen he is swarmed by zombies. Having no choice but to stand his ground, he heroically defends himself against several waves of attacks, each wave harder than the previous.

"We've done quite a bit of testing with this map, both in-house and with our beta testers from the forum, and we're really positive about the outcome. The idea with the map is to really tease all the competitive and skilled gamers out there in a 'How far can you get' kind of way. The map is by no means impossible, but if you want to be among the lucky few on the Hall of Fame, be prepared to play this map a few times."

Various screens, it's a simple game but it's fairly well made and despite the small file size it seems to contain quite a bit of game, sixteen levels or so if I remember correctly. Smile
(Interesting mix of semi cartoon visual style and serious story and violence, reminds me of some other game but I'm not sure if it's Silverfall or Torchlight though neither is directly comparable to this.)

EDIT: As with the M&B title we'll probably see a release eventually, uses some weird super long serial key but it'll likely be patched out or fully cracked if it's nothing too complex, not that I would know that much but it seems rather simple.

EDIT: Tomorrow there's Section 8 and this - http://se.gamersgate.com/DD-STARRAIDERS/star-raiders - followed by Garhasp and that water game on the ninth and then Witcher 2 and the bigger titles along with Fable 3. Razz

Concur. Quite repetitive and uninteresting. It has a nice cast-away feeling and atmosphere which are utterly destroyed by the uninspired gameplay.
