Got called by Ubisoft to go for an interview on Monday for the position of Senior QA supervisor and game tester.

I am proud and fearful at the same time. What if I stumble, what if I fuck it up?

Hope it won't be like it always is, "yeah, we'll give you a call".

The only other game dev having studios in Romania is Electronic Farts, no thank you.

My only gripe with it however is that they mostly test PS3 versions, and I can't handle a controller for shit.

@ixigia: Thanks, man. Unless of course, you're trolling. Which will eventually happen from all of the PC elitist fellows from the PC arena.

Oh come on.... you really thought I was trolling? Sad I'm just kidding with ya, of course I mean good luck! Hey, with a guy on the inside perhaps you'd be able to leak some unprotected EXEs, then we wouldn't have to wait for Skidrow to fuck up another shitty-DRM release Laughing

Well you can kiss their ass with Assasins Creed Brotherhood since they did the majority of the PC porting and it was really good

I don't think I griped about that, I actually found that game extremely great.

However, I am at an impass, cause if they ask me from where do I have the gaming experience, I got nothing, cause I pirate almost everything, except indies and the occasional big title.

Also, can they be more bloody cryptic? They asked me to update my CV on their site, but I don't even know WHAT to update, cause I sent them the most updated CV I had.

Freakin' bureaucracy, man.

You mainly mention the games you've played and still play. If they ask you if you buy the games you play, you reply that the majority of them are legit (over 85%). But if they ask of you to submit evidence of your physical collection of purchased titles or your Steam's library, then you're fucked. Cool Face

Lol. This is romania mate, they don't care where you have the gaming experience from.

Ubisoft has a pretty fucked up recruiting policy. They take you through about 5 interviews, and only select 10% of candidates that apply.

It's all pretty useless too, since they dont really take the test results into account and base their decision on first impressions. Just don't be too disappointed if you don't get in.

I know what to expect, it's just that this is the first decent job I could find in months.

To be honest, ima think I'll fail, cause as I said, consoles aren't my thing.

Would you mind me asking to see your CV? I'm curious as to what previous job experiences and or education you have.

No. You can't.

High-school finished, no university, worked for a year in a PC parts franchise and up until recently I've been fixing smartphones and laptops with a friend.

It's a record of someone's employment and schooling history, so it's personal to them. I sure as hell wouldn't post my CV online for random nobodies to pore over. It's his choice, so why not respect his privacy without resorting to casting his character into question? Wink

Yep without it you are doomed to feel ashamed or to feel insignificant or lesser, while most people have certain areas in which they are very good in particular. To everyone, try to find that area. Smile

I think that I've already found it, the problem is that they don't pay enough for all my charges at the moment. Sad

And I still have to finish that stupid thesis. Mad

Because it's personal.

And I have nothing to hide...

Except for that dead hooker I dumped in the sea some two years ago.
