The first one sold more than 1 million units: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-02-16-sniper-ghost-warrior-sells-a-million

And being a low budget title made in Poland that's a HUGE success.

Nice. I liked the first one for what it was, an inexpensive Sniper game with some flaws that got patched out. If they are smart they will ditch the COD Wannabe missions for the sequel.

I don't know whether to be happy or not. The first one was decent but the arcade factor was too high. Knowing that City Interactive crap out most of their games as trash isn't saying a reassuring thing about the sequel.

P.S. The game might be powered by Crytek's CE 3... Laughing

The first one was so silly it was good, tbh.

If they can somehow have larger maps, NONE of those shootout sequences, more challenging shots and better AI it may be worth a look.

Meh.. why bother. Everybody knows that the sequel will be made for consoles, has worse graphics and come with an aimbot.

Ghost Warrior 1 had some fairly good missions, but as everyone said the CoD-inspired ones were quite horrible. Hopefully they have a bigger budget this time..CI, the time has come to make a proper game! Laughing

I pretty much doubt it.

City Interactive has posted the first screenshot for their upcoming FPS title, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2.

The game is one of the few titles announced that utilizes Crytek’s powerful CryEngine 3 middleware.

My thoughts exactly. The game itself could prove CI have better designers than Crytek. Cool Face

It looks good, but I can't say better or worse from one screenshot.

I think the first one looked surprisingly good for a budget title as well.

Yep, the problems as very often (always) happens with City Interactive are in the gameplay department, but somehow that screen makes me quite optimistic

It was the only game made by CI that was actually, even though remotely, desirable as opposed to the usual crap they used to put forward.

Better than crysis2 hahaha. You can tell that from a single screenshot? What's funny is that in the thread for the first game, people said "Looks better than Crysis" and, well, it turned out it didn't. and the game was crap. It was OK for a budget game I guess but it was nothing special.

I uninstalled it half way through the first mission because it was boring and it was garbage. The AI could spot your exact location when you fired. Rolling Eyes

It'd be great, if for example, you bought a game called Sniper where you played as a Sniper most of the time. Not an assault rifle wielding maniac, mostly at close quarters, in a bunch of scripted events. Maybe their budget will now allow for it.... or it'll convince them that everything they did in the first place was loved by all.

At least if they get this one wrong we can all look forward to Snip3r Cool Face

Yeah what he said, how about a SNIPER, sniping..imagine that.

Nice graphics as expected, but the hand-holding is really strong in this one (follow, run, stop, shoot, rinse-repeat)

The first one also had hand-holding. It's more of the same.

The open levels in the first Sniper weren't nowhere as linear and guided as the one shown in the video, let's hope it's just because it's one of the early stages

The first one also had levels such as the one shown here. And the levels were as linear as Jesus's ass crack. Don't know - that's the impression I was left over after finishing it. There was this little minted illusion of open-world gameplay as well.
