Yes please! Considering Pathfinder's success, maybe now they got the funds to expand and polish their game.

This, the first game played extremely well with the turn based mod and for easier encounters you could just switch to rtwp with a button press it was just perfect if they implement this by default and keep the stupid management stuff out everyone hated in the first game this would be perfect crpg.

Kingmaker was just awesome. I don't know what they are going to do with this, but if they are going to make more of Kingmaker, I don't mind at all.

I love RTwP. Trash encounters are fast, and even difficult encounters are difficult only until you solve the hard part, then you can move on.

Pathfinder was by far the best DnD like CRPG since Mask of the Betrayer. I saw no compromises in their vision. Sure, it was clunky. I beat it at a time, when the ending segment was absurdly difficult - yet I loved every second of it.

A WoR-specific version of the turn-based mod will likely be available soon after release, since engine-wise nothing much is likely to have changed. And though I suspect Owlcat will be trying very hard to avoid a repeat of Kingmaker's launch state, I'd still expect plenty of jank to start with, so it will probably be worth waiting a month or two at least for some of the rough edges to be patched out anyway.

I'd recommend playing Pathfinder first, was a much better experience even though it really took like 140 hours for me to finish. Very Happy

Whilst I'm sure Owlcat will do a good job, they will have their work cut out for them with WOTR. It's generally considered to be a pretty poor AP by the Pathfinder community.

In the AP you level up really fast which leads to a bunch of overpowered save or die encounters where the highest initiative tends to murder everyone else. The mythic rules are also generally considered to be poor, though I gather Owlcat has scrapped the tabletop ones and written their own.

Other thing is Amber Scott (of Siege of Dragonspear infamy), wrote the whole first part of the AP. Her dumb characters mostly disappear after the first book, but be prepared for some dumb shit if they keep her stuff in.

Looking forward to isodemoing it at launch, then buying it a year later once they have finished patching it, just like with Kingmaker.

I'm actually surprised they lowballed the goal. They were always likely to hit 1+ mil pretty easily. In their shoes I probably would have set it to at least 750K. Maybe they don't want to look greedy.

Kingmaker reached 900k, and back then Owlcat was an unknown studio. I wonder how much they'll earn this time.

Also, had no idea Avellone is a chunky boi now.
