I said I wasn't going to crowdfund anymore after all the bullshit with Phoenix Point, Shenmue 3, Outer Wilds, etc.. But I decided to back this one. Apparently they are also getting some funds from the EU.
Why do you back it if I may ask? What qualities do you see? I liked van helsing, but I don't know if I should back this one.
The dark fantasy setting inspired by Arthurian legends and Disciples art style is interesting enough for me.
The gameplay seems like a combination of Darkest Dungeon and classic turn-based RPGs. The heroes are susceptible to all kind of afflictions and there's a pre/post mission management involved for both the party and the kingdom.
The combat looks alright. There are some extensive skill trees to provide the kind of variety and depth I want from this sort of games.
I don't know anything about the writing. They say that each hero has a unique personality. You'll have to make choices, settle disputes, etc. But they didn't show much and if I'll have to guess, it's probably going to be something similar to Inquisitor - Martyr in this regard.
To reiterate on what I said above, I trust Neocore to make an interesting game and not just something generic. But it's most likely going to have an average production value and plenty of flaws.
yes yes 1500 copies, great succes, they arent selling like hotcakes either
one third of their current funded budget sofar came from big ticket 1k -4k usd spenders, thats a lot of 25 usd copies missing
Im suprized a company as old as neocore doesnt have more sway with its fanbase in absolute numbers. Anyway thanks EU for the funding, ill pick it up when its all patched up in 2022 steam sale for 5 bucks like i do all my neocore games
Neocore's original King Arthur game was a real time strategy like the Total War series. I liked it a lot. The sequel wasn't as good, I think. This is a different genre entirely of course.
Neocore are a bit hit and miss in their work because their standards are high but their budget ... not so much.
Reminds me of other european developers like Spiders
I watched Fextralife's vod yesterday and I was disappointed to see the turn-based combat works the same as in Wasteland 3. There's no per unit initiative, the turns is for the whole team.
that second video first seconds, every sub menu having a zoom in zoom out animation made me carsick .. what cunt comes up with this shit ... and i bet u have to like click that shit every bloody turn or whatever wasting masive time
" 40h gameplay" "10 h watching useless zoom animations"
Nah, I was just showing the structures and menues, it's not that bad. The map doens't even have turns as I mentioned before. It's just a map with separate missions and you can choose any as they appear.
