Sorry mate... Laughing

@garus

A ball isn't a two dimensional figure. I believe most people will, accidentally/instinctively, choose "circle" - which is why I presume Frant deliberately excluded "sphere"

Anyway, these are TWO DIMENSIONAL figures. The closest to correct answer would be ellipse. The earth is an ellipsoid.

How is a torus a 2-dimensional figure?

And as far as ball-shaped, it could very well mean:

Yet it's still a ball, since you neglected to include sphere. The closest shape that would match the definition of Earth is a ball. Ellipsoid? Nope. Circle? two dimensional, thus nope. Rhombic? Nope.

~edit~

Meh, I still disagree.

elliptic isnt fixed shape. Anyway, earth is larger at aequator and shorter at axis, so its elliptic.

Yes, it's an ellipsoid. It's profile is elliptic(al). Or perhaps it's epileptic.

Is it called a circle no matter if it's 1-dim or 2-dim? I would call 2-dim a disc.

Reffering to sabins 2-dim circle btw.

Ahaha, well spotted Atropa Very Happy

Personally I'm happy to admit I was wrong. I honestly believed the closest definition, with lack of a sphere, was the ball. Oops Laughing

So far:

Primary school: people don't get order of operations
Secondary school: people think earth is a ball

Now we need something high school related to astonish the derps with.
