PARAMOUNT DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT UNVEILS STAR TREK™
Action adventure co-op game casting players as Kirk and Spock to debut next
week at Electronic Entertainment Exposition (E3) 2011
Los Angeles, CA – June 3, 2011 – Paramount Digital Entertainment confirmed today that Star Trek™
will be coming to the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3
computer entertainment system and Windows PC in summer 2012. With an original story and
unprecedented co-op experience, the game casts players as Kirk and Spock for the first time ever.
The game, which continues the adventure that director and producer J.J. Abrams envisioned with Star
Trek (2009), boasts a stand alone story filled with action-packed combat as Kirk and Spock must work
together to stop a legendary enemy race bent on conquering the galaxy.
"Star Trek challenges the boundaries of co-op gameplay with a galactic adventure that gamers and fans
have never experienced," said Tom Lesinski, President of Paramount Digital Entertainment. "Working
closely with the Star Trek filmmaking team throughout development, the game is sure to deliver
AAA production values, a wide variety of gameplay and all the action you would expect from the hit
franchise. This will be the definitive Star Trek gaming experience."
Star Trek features an original story by BAFTA award winner and God of War writer, Marianne Krawczyk,
in collaboration with the writer/producers of the new Star Trek films, Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman.
The game is under development by Digital Extremes (Bioshock 2, Unreal Tournament, Dark Sector, The
Darkness II), working closely with Bad Robot, K/O Paper Products and Damon Lindelof and published
by Paramount Digital Entertainment through a license with CBS Consumer Products. Star Trek will be
available in stores 2012.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."

"Like Nothing On Earth"
for a second there i was kinda intrigued when it said kirk and spock, and then i realised they meant the abrams version and then i went ehhhhhhhhhhh
because a modern day shooter with the retro aesthetic of the original could actually have been damn interesting, especially in a mass effect style game (thats me1, not 2 )

i thought it wasnt bad - i actually liked the movie more than i THOUGHT i would, but i just cant get excited about a game based on the movie (even if it isnt a direct tie-in).
id so much more like to see a shatner/nimoy version trek game, with a retro aesthetic... tell me that couldnt be damn interesting.
startrek elite force had voyager stranded in some bizzaro dimension that had a TOS-era mirror-universe ship in there you were in for a bunch of levels
so running around in TOS scenes with voyager era weaponry
and i love everything to do with the mirror universe

After recently getting into Sins of a Solar Empire (and sinking many, many, many hours into it, both vanilla and the Star Trek mod) a Trek RTS in that style would be epic. Never played Bridge Commander, does it stand the test of time? Me and my Lan buddy are always looking for new (well, old but not played yet) games.
No, it definitely hasn't stood the test of time.. sadly. Visuals are... well, ancient. It will take the most ardent of fans to forgive that. At the time it was fabulous though, which is why I long for something like ST Excalibur. Bridge Commander-esque gameplay, with 21st century visuals

Agreed, bring on a sequel to the best Star Trek game please.Although the 25th anniversary games were also great and ST :A Final Unity was good to.So was Starfleet Command series but its been a long time since we have had a good one.All the FPS style games didn't entertain me.
That trailer just sumed up 46 years of Star Trek universe.
