Those are some very alluring key features, either they're being (too) optimistic or they really have something genuinely good in their hands. Will keep it under my radar, with the hope that it doesn't turn into a flabby pseudo-vaporware
Hmm it's a tad too expensive for my liking. €25 is only slightly lower than what I intend to pay full price for such a game and this is with a boatload of "ifs" attached to it. It's an expensive gamble. €15-20 would have been better for a basic version.
On top of that, when I look at the incentives, I get PoE flashbacks: "statues erected in your likeness" with 100 possible backers for €175. At the prospect of 100 statues all over the game with ugly backer mugs I say "thank you but no". I absolutely hated the PoE backer NPCs since it was a constant immersion breaker.
RB is not currently being worked on because the business manager / level designer who owns 50% of the company & was supposed to be finding the game a publisher basically abandoned the project in late 2020. This year he has been unresponsive when Hobgoblin42 the programmer (other 50% owner) contacted him with anything pertaining to the company. Unfortunately as 50% owner they require his approval to sign with a publisher or make any business decisions (he could legally shut down any attempts to sell anything related to RB).
Ceres is expected to go bankrupt very soon. Why? The company received a portion of a government grant in 2019. But they are expected to show progress and release a finished product. Since they cannot, Ceres is required to pay back what they've received... as some of the money has been spent, the company will be forced to declare bankruptcy. Then assets & IP of the game will be auctioned off to pay down company debts. The programmer personally owns the RB game engine so he will retain that no matter what.
for those who backed it.

This games development was always cursed. They fired one of the writers who was an RPG Codexer because he'd made some slightly "offensive" posts.
Then they'd got into this trouble with their business partner doing a runner. The KS was also all about attracting a publisher, it was apparently never enough money to actually finish the game.
Several German codexers have pointed out they probably owe the Govt a ton of money for the grant they received as well.
