Quote:

Dream:scape is more than a game. It is an interactive narrative experience, an immersive exploratory environment, a haunting journey that will become your world. Take on the role of Wilson, a coma patient relearning his past by exploring the dreamscape of his memories. Only there, in the lucid light of the subconscious, buried secrets are revealed, unraveling a decades-old mysyery of tragedy, betrayal, and ultimately, revenge.

Features include:

-An engrossing story told through interactive 3D environments, written diary entries, and over ten minutes of spoken dialogue.

-Lush original score by composer Isaias Garcia

-Nearly thirty seamless acres of entirely open-world exploration, featuring fully realised interior and exterior locations.

-Unlockable Free Roam options.

-Intuitive controls and in-world interactions.

Dream:scape is a virtual experience to be savoured for hours, replayed like a favourite book, and remembered for years.

And some sad news, though hopefully it can be fixed;

Quote:

After a lot of hair-pulling and sleepless nights, the decision has been made to temporarily postpone the release of dream:scape in order to make it compatible with as many of your devices as possible. Hopefully this means that dream:scape will not only operate on your iPhone 4 and iPad 2, but also on your 3GS, iPad, and iPod Touch 4th Gen (keep all your appendages crossed!) It ALSO means that dream:scape will be an even more engrossing experience, because we are adding in all new game elements, challenges and creatures.

It sounds, and looks, wonderful... but let's just hope the dev can work on the game so that it's compatible with 256MB devices. Fingers crossed!

It's out!

...... in New Zealand Crying or Very sad

Quote:

NZ Release info :

The Game is out in New Zealand. It should be out in US at about 11 PM EST and Europe at around 12 AM UK time. Size of the app is 201 MB.

Price in NZ is $2.59 which should translate to USD $1.99

DAT PRICE!! Shocked I was expecting Capcom/SquareEnix levels of pricing, I really was. I'll "demo" it first just to make sure my 3GS-hardware can handle it... and if so, I'll buy it instantly. Just another hour or so now Very Happy

~edit~

Correction, it IS out now on the UK store.

~edit~

Can't find it on Installous, but it's on Sinful (filename; dreamscape-v1.1-www.idwaneo.org.ipa ) Installing now.. then I'll buy =)

~edit~

Looks absolutely gorgeous and it runs ok too, framerate is a bit sporadic depending on where you are and what direction you're facing. You can't really physically interact with anything, it's all automatic, you just walk into doors.. or walk into objects.. and the game takes over. The controls are also a little unresponsive sometimes, having to constantly keep swiping the screen to pan the camera can get very annoying, though this could be due to weak hardware (in relation to iPhone/Pod 4, of course)

My only major gripe is the lack of subtitles - the ambient audio and music is far louder than the spoken voice, so it's easy to mishear something -- and without subtitles mishearing the voice means missing the story and information.

I'm going to buy it though, it's beautiful and innovative. Hopefully the dev adds subtitles in a future build.

It looks good, but why didn't they include click to move controls like Epic Citadel? The game world is too large to use the dumb virtual sticks. Otherwise I'd buy it.

Buy? Are you not a leech like the rest of us with jailbroken devices? Smile

Very Happy

Obviously it's not going to be for everyone. I see this game as an experiment... a visual audiobook. It's definitely innovative, that's for damned sure, and worth a buy at $2.
