Fear 2 was a borefest, corridor after corridor mindless shooting. I don't have any hopes for this one, but we will see when the reviews drop in.

Actually, I found FEAR1 the most boring, not for the story but for the complete lack of variety in the levels: and endless succession of offices and corridors with a devoid-of-life color palette that was just depressing.

I played fear2 and at least it was more colorful, but I didn't finish it, because something better came out and I left it half way through.

I'm waiting for someone to report wether this is worth playing or not.

Well, played through 3 intervals.

It's not bad, it's not particularly good either, FEAR 2 looked a bit better and had better controls than this.

The AI is pretty sharp and responsive, they'll try flanking you, chuck hundreds of grenades at you at the same time. They've got godlike aim, even when blindfiring, you'll see what i mean when you get to the guy shooting blue lasers in the second interval.

Level design is pretty confusing, there's a bit of freedom, but there's also many dead ends. Lack of a map or a pointer is annoying. Levels themselves feel recycled. I couldn't believe that i was back in the same sewers from the first, that obviously look the same.

I'm just finding it pretty hard to do sprint slides or jump kicks. Also pressing Y for slowmo feels unnatural.

The game is enjoyable so far tho.

Deus Ex "press release" leaked, yes, but only on the PC. You get around 10hrs of play, roughly the first 20-25% of the game, then it ends.

-I am barely into it but either its late and my judgment is off or this Fear is leaps and bounds better than the last few.

-This game so far is better by miles. . . I didnt care much for fear 1- Fear to was okay, but the chock-scenes where predictable.

-Otherwise, way better then Fear 2. If you even kinds liked that game, get this one.

-Yep definitely turnaround for the series!

-I am a big fan of the series and F3AR is a great. It feels much like the old games but also improves a lot of things. That's one of the best cover system I've seen in an FPS game, I hope other developers will include it in their games. There is bullet-time, there is blood and guts flying around - what else could anyone want? I give it a 9/10 so far, I'll see if it will keep me so excited to the very end.

-This game was a big surprise to me. It's pretty good.

Well i need reviews from F.E.A.R. fans, which loved the first one. As all of us know, 2nd game was nothing like the original. AI in Fear 2 is dumb as bricks. I watched only one corner and eventualy every enemy came there. FEAR1 has better weapons and much more enjoyable combat. And where the hell is Instant Action in F.E.A.R. 2?
Sure it's ok shooter but as F.E.A.R. game is big disappointment.

edit: Ok just finished Interval 1 & 2 and at least the game is better than F.E.A.R. 2. Looks like this time they use the AI from original F.E.A.R. which is pretty good. Smile

Just played 4 intervals , it's a decent shooter..and I must say it's better than FEAR 2. Nothing spectacular tho , but a good time waster..AI is better I agree , but they can stuck sometimes..nothing serious tho , it just happened couple of times.

Played 4 intervals myself and I really enjoy it Smile Gore is great, gfx is nice. Challenges makes the game more interesting. Story seems pretty cool aswell Smile
