Carpal Tunnel Syndrome? What?

Anyway this is a single player "game" right?
Might take a look at it.

Man, it's addictive. Very Happy

My record is ~100km high before the fuel ran out (kept going up for a while because of momentum), next is getting them into orbit. Smile

But for some reason the game becomes very-very slugish as soon as the three liqud engines switch to the next tank in line. Because of this I'm forced to use bulkier designs.

I wonder if it will let you actually get the guys to orbit. With three single tank liquid rockets for the first stage, and a two tank liquid as the second stage I got up to nearly 300K. The second stage cut off at just under 100K. It'll be interesting to see the stats after I make it back to the ground which will probably take another 10 minutes Very Happy I'll throw on another tank to each of the first stage motors but will probably need to use SRB's to get the thing off the ground Smile

edit: apparently having three two tank liquid fueled engines as the first stage and a single two tank engine as the second was enough... and then some. At 1350K and it's still going. I angled the ship for the second stage but not enough apparently. I'm still gaining altitude and just barely losing speed. It'll be interesting to see how the game handles it. If it puts me in an orbit it'd be highly elliptical at this point Smile

Somebody said after 40km the atmosphere is over so that's the place for the orbit. Can't remember the velocity for it, Orbiter this isn't. Very Happy

Well, I'm almost at the top of my arc I think. The VSI is slowly coming down and the kilometers are ticking off slower now. 3058KM now. Once I start heading back on the return trip the speed I get is going to be insane. If I miss the planet it'd be escape velocity for sure Smile I'm just letting it run in the background.

Looks like 3060 is the top of my arc. The VSI is almost on 0 and my speed has stopped decreasing. Nope, made 3061KM briefly then back to 3060KM. That took 1 hour 18 minutes. Now for the trip back Very Happy

S1: 12 solid boosters.
S2: 6 1-tank liquid.
S3: 2 2-tank liquid.
S4: 1 2-tank liquid.

Should be interesting. Smile

Round the clock and still going:

Simple design:

MSI X570 Tomahawk |Corsair Vengeance LPX 32gb 3600mhz | Ryzen 5800X3D | EKWB Watercooling | Seasonic Focus GX 850 Gold PSU | 4090 Founders | Predator X34P UW curved monitor | Window Pro 10 x64

A bit ahead of you. A lot higher and a lot faster. Very Happy

And the painful thing is, my velocity decreases 1 m/s every 4 seconds. In a real solar system, that's way beyond escape velocity. Very Happy

EDIT: now it's almost down to 0.1m/s every 1 sec. I think I won't wait for impact. Very Happy

What was your top speed reached with all those engines? Did you wait until it started coming back down? That was the painful part for me. I just kept checking it every 15 minutes or so

stage2 cutoff for me was at about 4 minutes. Took over an hour to reach the top to the arc. Coming down took another hour and 15 minutes or so. Top speed was just over 3000m/s

Apparently you can't land too far out in the ocean or it's automatic kaboom Smile

I gave up on ever seeing the end of my arc (let alone landing), when I was at 5000km high, having a speed of 2400m/s and the deceleration was 0.1m/s^2. Hope the dev(s) implement a time compression some time soon. Very Happy

I'll go to sleep in a few hours, but I highly doubt I would have started falling back by the time I woke up. Smile

This game needs the ability to shoot them into the sun.

Forgot I left the game on...16000 km and still 3100+ m/s

 Spoiler:

After 40 mins i had reached an altitude of 23000km and my speed had actually leveled out at 10758.4m/s then im sorry to say that my Kerbals wont see their homeplanet anymore. Jeb still seems happy Smile

Not trying to rain on your parade but going to space without a way of coming back is not something that is hard to accomplish. Lunching into a steady orbit, circling the kearth several times and landing successfully is a different story.

True but achieveing an orbit currently to my knowledge is impossible is it not?

It's probably not impossible but without any sort of guidance it's going to be hard to get into a stable orbit.
