Didn't see a topic for it, anyway, it's a movie tie-in game, release date: 2012, developed by Beenox.

The great thing is, it's an open-world game again, not this corridor beat-em-up like Shattered Dimensions.

Trailer from VGA:

Looks great. Smile

There were a few gems in the past too, like X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which was better than the movie.

The Punisher was also great.

I really loved Spider-Man: Web of Shadows as well. Smile

I'm pretty sure I've seen somewhere that the PC version is in the works, but will be released after the console versions.

Beenox is developing this. That's a start... not really excited about another movie-licensed game though.

Well, Edge of Time didn't make its way to PC. I don't believe this one will be different.

but they were shit beat em ups and the swing mechanics weren't spectacular.

the best spidey game was the one in the olden days that also came out to the dreamcast. the swinging was fun. fighting was great. and it had unlockables. all the ones after were 'good' if they weren't spiderman games.

Open world + Beenox could lead to a potentially great title. Let's hope the Masterrace can finally have a *proper* Spidey game..and then

Which open-world spidey game was the best? There was one where we could play as Venom, or race against the Human Torch near the beginning. Can't remember which it was, but I was enjoying that.

Anyways, that picture looks too sterile. NY should be...dirty.

That was Ultimate Spider-Man.

Spider-Man 3 and Spider-Man: Web of Shadows were also freeroam.

I think the latter was the best.

Good game, really enjoyed it.

I liked all the movie tie-in games though.

Web of Shadows was the best and the only good fully open world Spiderman game. The best Spiderman game was the one from 2001, the one titled simply Spider-Man (at least for me), followed by Shattered Dimensions and Web of Shadows.

Oh yeah... WoS told a very dark story. I loved the game because it didn't sugar coat anything and the ending mechanic was great (automatic good/bad based on whose powers you used).

1 and 2 are still amazing.

WTF IS THIS SHIT!?

Also, as a Wii exclusive, there are 6 alternate costumes (Spider-Carnage for the black suit, and Spider-Armor, Ben Reilly, Spider-Man 2099, Cosmic Spider-Man and the Iron Spider suit for the red suit).

I was gonna pick up the ps3 version, but now i dunno... and can't find it on steam Sad

I still remember how unbelievably terribad was the PC version, they stripped down all the interesting features and simplified the gameplay..bah Crying or Very sad

definitely going to consider buying this is if it's not as much of a POS as shattered dimensions, kinda funny but... good web swinging is the main feature that has to be right for most people to buy a spider man game and open world, but... it's spider man, the iconic hero who has free roaming as a power, in a way at least
