The new Suse 9.2 was released today and i want to download the dvd image that has 3,3GB in size. It's an iso image, a mirror list can be found here:

http://www.suse.com/us/private/download/ftp/int_mirrors.html

Now here is the problem: I can't donwload the files from any ftp server. I always use Smartftp and that gives me an error and says the file is too big. And then i use Nestcape or IExplorer i get an error that the directory doesn't exist, as soon as i click on the file to download. Now i really wanna get this, although i am using freebsd usually Smile

any ideas what could be the problem?

Thnx

Have you tried DOS (well you know what I mean!)

Start --> Run --> CMD --> FTP

then there should be a help command to help you from there. You should have similar programs on BSD Smile. It may also be the large number of connections no doubt going on, is it the free release? They stopped doing that did they not? Then started giving out the 1CD versions for free?

ENLIGHTEN ME, or Ill be forced to install Debian on my new server Neutral.

Well [sYn], that's what i thought too, but apparently they reconsidered. I read on german computer sites that they released it yesterday for download, and sites directly linked to the dvd image. So i think it's perfectly legal, the image is in the pub directory and all german sites are linking directly to the image. Here is an example:

ftp://ftp.plig.org/pub/suse/i386/9.2/iso/ (A uk mirror just for you, hope it won't get flooded/hammered if i post it here Smile )

And now to my problem. ftp.exe wasn't working either, i forgot to mention it Wink, and my bsd is currently down, that's why i want to try suse, i can get more precompiled stuff for it. And after i rebooted this morning, it is working all of a sudden, like a miracle Smile or just windows, lol

If FTPRush (http://www.ftprush.com/) won't work I don't know what you could do. BTW, why don't you use Gentoo instead? It's much better. Debian is also pretty cool If you don't like the compile times.
