|
 |
Hi,
I would like to know if it's possible to create a menu for Data DVD (with some divx/xvid movie parts) that can be used in standalone DVD/Divx players.
I just want a nice way to select the chapter I want to view. I know it's possible for regular movie DVD's with MPEG2 files, but can it be done for divx/xvid files? What app can do this?
Thx,
J

So if I can't find it there, it means it can't be done?
Can someone confirm this?
Thx
J

Well, I own a Philips DVD737 that can play divx/xvid files. When you burn a divx/xvid file on a cd of dvd and want to play it, you have to choose te file from some kind of explorer (list of files on the disk).
I would like to create a dvd with some divx/xvid movies on it, but be able to choose from a nice menu, like when you insert an original movie dvd. I want to create a background, with a music loop, logo's, ....
I know you can make one if you burn a movie in dvd format. But is it possible to create a menu with buttons that can start playing the divx/xvid files? It's like making an Autorun, but one that can be played on divx players.
It's like a combination of a real movie dvd and a data dvd.
Hope I'm clear enough.
Thx
J

You can do it with Quick Menu Maker. It's a pretty basic app, at the first sight, but if you get to know the app a little better, you'll find out that it's a pretty good one for making autorun's for CD's (who'll play on your computer).
I've been using that app myself for quite some time now, but I also know that DemoShield is also a pretty good aplication to do it (since many games use it). I think I'll use it the next time I need to do a autorun job...

I don't think that's possible. You need to convert it to dvd or svcd to put a menu on it.
BTW, Isn't Adobe Encore only for DVD ediding.

The problem with Adobe Encore is that when you import avi's, your movie/clip resolution has to be either 720x480, 720x486 or 704x480. So... you need to resize your movies if you want to be able to import them.
I think that really sucks, since adobe encore could've at least resize the movies automatically (or choose which res./standard you desire) when importing clips. Shame on Adobe.
And the problem with DVD lab is that it will only import mpeg files, so you need to convert your avi to mpg.
