Played the demo and overall it felt like a clunky God of War rip-off.

If it's difficult "by design" it should be a plus imho, most games are too damn easy these days. However, if it's difficult due to broken controls or bad combat mechanics, that could very well ruin the whole game...

Yeah, well, GT scores are "weighted", meaning it's not an average of the 4 sub-scores, but they give more weight to some aspects,in this case the supposedly bad platforming and exploration evidently dragged the score down, at least that's the feel I got from watching the review. I myself don't mind having to figure out where to go instead of having a linear corridor throughout the whole game, but cheap deaths due to bad jumping / bad camera and such is something I HATE, and from the review there seem to be quite a lot of it....

I don´t think gt meant controlls were bad. More like there was some trial and error when it comes to some platforming?
Anyway: hard game=good (as long as it´s a fair challange)

If the game's too easy, play it on a harder difficulty. I mean, if you've played a lot of games for quite some time (10+ years) you can't expect normal to still cut it.

I'm really looking forward to this, if only because the previews all seem to agree that it truly feels like a Castlevania game. I was a bit hesitant at first, turning Castlevania into Devil May Cry, but seems the reviewers are all raving about it. Let's just hope it truly stays true to its roots.
-edit-
WOOOO!! Epic trailer is epic! You can add SC4 music to anything and it will instantly give me delicious shivers of retro love <3

And how am I supposed to know if the normal difficulty is easy or normal without playing the game for several hours? Also like Nailbiter said hard should offer a hard challenge and not a normal challenge!

I'll grab the Jailbreak version for PS3 when it hits, then more than likely buy the retail game for whichever system has the superior load times and performance/graphics. I'm a MEGA huge fan of Castlevania, so as long as it IS Castlevania; it's a buy for me.

From the gametrailer review it seems like the game has janky ass traversal controls, but great combat controls, the camera seems to be all kinds of messed up too...
As it stands nothing should be "frustrating" and "annoying" and be excused by words like "it's by design"

Well, that's exactly my point: if a game is difficult because of bad controls/bad camera, it's broken, plain and simple. Difficult "by design" means platforming is designed to require skill, not that it's difficult because the game "tricks" you by making the path unclear or the jumping controls atrocious.
