THQ has confirmed that Darksiders II's story will take place in the same time period as the first game, only this time players will take control of the Horseman Death, instead of his brother War. The game will reportedly take place across an entirely new ensemble of maps, confirmed to be double in cumulative size to that of its predecessor. The game will also feature the remaining two horsemen (Strife and Fury as it appears in game.) in some capacity. The game will take Death across multiple dungeons and city hubs. City hubs feature NPCs who can give out side quests etc. In the July 2011 issue of Game Informer, the cover feature details that one city hub will connect to a number of dungeons and that one city area will feature more dungeons than the whole of the original Darksiders. Loot will also be included, dropping from encounters as rewards ranging from 12 different armor piece categories, which can have different enchantments and may power up Death's Wrath Powers.
Darksiders II starts at nearly the same time as the start of the first Darksiders. After War is convicted and sent back to Earth by the Charred Council, they inform the other three Horseman of his fate. The Horseman Death, knowing that his brother War is the most honorable and incorruptible of the four, and would never have started the Apocalypse early, flies into a rage. Believing his brother is victim of a conspiracy, Death defies the Council's orders and sets out on a personal mission to find proof of his brother's innocence. Death travels to the Nether Realms, a place between Heaven and Hell, to call in favors from powerful beings that rule the realm.
I have a feeling that people are going to jump on those games as they arrive as currently there is drain of any game this month same thing happened last year for Catherine
Well at least Darksiders 2 will be quality And I really don't see how Deadlight can fail either; experienced guys from different devs making a game together . Sleeping dogs might not turn out as good as it looks from what we have seen, but hoping for the best ofc
TWD is starting to grow on me, so waiting for episode 3 too
- It is still great mashup of DMC and Zelda, set in fantastic fantasy universe created by legendary comic book artist Joe Madueira.
- Everything in Darksiders 2 is bigger and more refined than in DS1.
- It has upgraded engine that has more user-configurable options and can show much more on the screen.
- Great mix of agile combat [no block, only dodging], agile traversal [much faster than in DS1] and puzzles.
- Storyline that will greatly expand upon the lore of DS1, new & old chars. Story is running in parallel with DS1 during majority of the game, far away from Earth and War. We dont known if there will be reunion of horsemen.
- Four big playing areas. Each in new environment, each large as entire DS1.
- 25+ hours for main storyline, with crapton of sidequests and sidejobs.
- Expanded character building options - fully featured skill trees, and fully customizable gear.
- Loot, loot, loot.
- Because of all that loot, all animations are this time rendered in-game. No more crappy compressed FMV's.
- NO MULTIPLAYER.
- NO COOP.
- You get badass looking horse from very beginning of the game.
- Voiceactor for Death is Michael Wincott, and you main couselor is James Cosmo.
- Confirmed no tearing in PS3/X360 version of the game
- X360 users will get the game on one disc.
- Diablo 3 Hardcore mode is in [under the name of Nightmare Mode]. One death in combat = permanent death and total loss of campaign progress.
- MAGs are in. Possessed Weapons [rare&unique weapon lootz] must be fed with other random items to enable them to level up and gain more abilities and damage.
- Trading of items between players is in.
- Fast Travel. You can go into your map and instantly teleport to any location that you previously visited.
- New Game+ is in. You keep all your loot, enemies gets tougher and you gain % to find new tier of weapons which can have exclusive NG+ attributes.
- In addition to traditional weapon combos, your secondary weapons can be chained-in for their "signature attack", Scythe has its own rhythm-based/delayed-button press combos, and legendary weapons have their own special attacks.
There's enough time before DS2 comes out, so I'd say yes. You'll get to grips with the gameplay style and you'll also get the main story ..... as well as Mark Hamill
the first one was such a awesome surprise, just total zelda rpg goodness, plus the combat was fun if not a little simple. i am so pumped for the sequel, i have high hopes a 9.0+ game
Darksiders II associate producer Jay Fitzloff has shed some details regarding the length of the game. Jay confirmed Darksiders II is almost four times in terms of area.
Darksiders IIHe further added, that Darksiders II first area/world features more dungeons as compare to first game, and first world will offer atleast 10 hours of gameplay time.
Check out below what Jay Fitzloff exactly said:
"It's around 3 or 4 times as big in terms of area. The first area/world contains more dungeons than the entire first game, and the first world will last you at least 10 hours."
No details has been revealed yet as to numbers of world Darksiders II will feature, but if we assume that there are atleast three worlds than fans of the series can expect 30 hours gameplay time.
Loved Darksiders 1 but I hated the opening 20 mins of it, I nearly didn't go on with it and throw it onto the dusty bookshelf ..... but thank god I did, hope the intro of Darksiders 2 is better
