I need some instrumental music, though I don't know the specific genre. But listen to this
Thats what I'm looking for, drums, pipes, with it being as ambient as possible.
Any recommendations?

If you're wondering what I need it for, it's for my Dwarf Fortress sessions Smile

While it sounds good, it's not at all what I'm looking for. And would not fit the purpose intended.

I found some stuff, hope you like it (neofolk/medieval-folk genre):

Faun - Karuna

Omnia - Bran

Ordo Funebris - Lycanthia

Arany Zoltán - Estampie

Thanks ixigia! thats the right stuff.
I also found that some of the songs can be used Smile Having this sort of ambience adds a lot to the atmosphere when playing DF.

Maybe some neofolk / ambient folk might fit the bill:

Lots of variety within the genre (evident even in those few clips), so you'd have to find the right bands/songs yourself, I'm no expert. Razz

Yep some of these were rather nice, such as Månegarm and Poeta Magica. This also let me on the path to find the artists behind the Dominions 3 soundtrack. Which will be a nice addition to my 'medieval ambience compilation'.
