Its actually pretty decent, some minor things that annoy but they will get fixed.
ps: reshade won't work for me, game starts fine but crashes at the deployment screen.

Units should get XP after kills in battle, and level up / acquire new skills. Also, there's no drawback to losing even an entire unit in battle, as they can be replaced by another set of clones afterwards. There's zero sense of progression.
Deployment is also a hassle, and the tutorial never mentioned it was possible to re-position your units before commencing battle. A proper minimap would also be nice. The current one is useless.
The only positive to combat is that - unlike in Sanctus Reach - your hands are not tied by the retarded "move, then shoot" formula. But the levels I've seen so far (4 or 5 missions in) are not clever or challenging at all -- you can't really flank or outmaneouvre the 'nids, it's all about setting up chokepoints and putting your units on overwatch. Which gets boring real quick.
All in all, feels like a mobile game ported to PC.

Someone missed the point of my post. Reading comprehension is a privilege indeed.
I was talking about units gaining XP/skills, not "heroes".

I actually need to revise my initial assessment of this game; I've played some more, and it's pretty decent. Nothing mind-blowing, but decent enough to enjoy.
The aforementioned issues are still valid, and the game is in dire need of some QoL improvements, but still can be fun.

Ok. I saw a few comparing it to Dawn of War, saying it's the closest so far.. but i guess i'll wait and see what happens with this in terms of DLC's, updates.

A Necron DLC is in the works, I'll be interested in that.
Also, you can always check out the yarr version to see if you like the game or not.
