A friend of mine has hitachi drive with iXtreme 1.51 and just downloaded F1 2011 - complex, but it seems he will be fucked with the new dash update ?
(last time he updated was with some harry potter deadly hallows Pt1 game)

Nope, the newest dashboard updates (13146 and 13599) DON'T flash the Hitachi drives. Your friend is pretty lucky in that regard, so go ahead and tell him to update. HOWEVER! I strongly recommend updating to LT1.9 as iX 1.5 is beyond ancient now and will inevitably cause issues down the line.

I have noticed some of the new XGD3 games have been released / coming out. Am i able to get these versions of the games and then use my normal method of extraction and play it on my jtagged xbox or do i have to only get the jtagged version of the game? (which was released earlier?)

I have a question as well. We updated with the F1 2011 update to 13599 and all is fine. Also, I'm reading that Hitachi doesn't have problem with ap25, is that right ?
Can my friend's x360 play Halo Reach ? Can it play xgd3 games, like Driver:SF ? (We're stuck with iXtreme 1.51)

You can play all AP25 games, backups or retails, as the Hitachi doesn't even perform the checks since it is physically incapable of doing so. XGD3 retail disks will also play fine - but not backups. You won't be able to play XGD3 backups until c4e puts out LT2.0 for Hitachi drives.

Ahh, damn. Isn't there some hack & slash method of playing xgd3 games, like the wave patcher thingies ? Doesn't matter if he gets banned from Live.
I've read that there are some ripped+resampled games to make them fit in the disc. But I guess that's unsigned code and will only play on JTAG consoles ?

Sadly no, the entire disk structure changed. If you try and modify it outside of MS spec, that breaks the signature and yep... JTAG territory.

I don't get it. How can Hitachi drives play an original XGD3 if the firmware doesn't even know what a XGD3 is? If Hitachis don't get flashed one would think XGD3s won't work at all no matter if it's a backup or retail version.  |

No, i called the xbox support and asked them about the problem, they weren't very helpfull because my xbox is old and banned so they suggested that i buy a new one.

He said, today - as I've talked to him, that he couldn't update to 13599 either - it gave E81. :/
I wonder if this is a new Microcunt way of fucking people with banned boxes. As GeoW3 even if installed, runs of the disc. It took the update that came with gears3, btw, but every thing after that give E81. Just like everything before it - I tried DS first witch has 13599 and gave E81 and then Gears3 witch has 13406 and that update worked.
Thing is, my dash still shows 13146.
God fucking damn it!

I'm struggling to find that out. There are a other of people on other forums having this issue, and here too (zilliver69 and SamZon), so I'm not the only one. Seems it's affecting banned consoles, or at least I haven't seen a non banned console affected by this so far.
Theoretically either RGH or a new dash update should fix it...
Man, this turned out to be a shitty weekend! :<

Just bought a Lite-On iHAS 124-04 b. Grabbed firmware iXtreme Burner Max for xbox360 burning. However, I dont own a xbox360..yet.. If I download iso files and burn them according to iXtreme dox, will they boot up? Or is a chip and/or hacked firmware needed on the xbox itself? I want to play games online. I did not buy the burner for xbox360, but realized after that it can be used for backups. If I need to chip,flash firmware, etc I prob will pass on picking up a 360 then. Thanks in advanced.

Dash updates usually contain all previous updates , but Im still not sure about that flashing part..nobody really knows..we'll see later this month, or in december like some say..they want to be ready for the holiday season.
Every 360 is now ready for XGD3 discs , maybe they decided it's not necessary anymore..it's beaten really quickly and there is no point , but at the end..it's still M$.

No, I have not tried it, I lack the required know-how and tools. I've shipped it today for RGH though, hope that turns out fine.

Don't forget that every game from now on will be XGD3, and every XGD3 has AP 2.5/6. And every dash update adds new sec checks, witch means reburning those titles every time they put out a new dash.

I'm getting tired of all these updates and flashes. What we used to have was about 1 flash a year to play the latest games, and next thing we know it's 2 or 3 flashes a year. I'm not doing the flashing myself and I think it's getting a drag. So in that respect Microsoft has succeeded in pissing me off.
